THIS! I have a couple older Suzuki motors. Love them, but it getting harder to get parts for them. Paid $165 for a alum prop for a 9.9hp. :banghead: No one makes an aftermarket prop for that motor in 1989 thru 1997. :banghead:

I have heard that fluorocarbon has issues with knot strength, the line breaks at the knot. Has anyone experienced this? Thanks for any help.
Used to use it offshore only and never had a problem with it for 150lb+ tuna Used 50-80 lb test. I did install some 20lb test on a fly rod that I will be using for sacalait fishing. Will see if that holds up to snags and trees.

That bad? You're screwed. Wish I could help, but don't have anything big enough to pull you out. Besides, way to far to drive a tractor.

Don't go cheap on the antenna bracket. NO PLASTIC and ONLY SS.
Not much need of a VHF these days with cell phones unless you run under bridges or run the Mississippi river down south. Still nice to have.

How often do you have to replace bearings on the shaft?
Not to often if you keep it greased. The prop, well one can see that when it needs changing. Mud and sand eat them for lunch.
What size boat you planning to put this on?

Not a fan of those motors. The shaft/sleeve bearings and prop can run you some big bucks.

What to check for is the db gain. 3' or 8'. Most 3' are good up to about 15 miles. Over cast days, a bit more. An 8' is good out to around 25 miles. Over cast days, maybe out to 35 miles. Also, how high one mounts it makes a difference. High is better!
