Thanks guys... Was gonna get the A40 originally but couldn't find it local.

Didn't know the A50 was out... Will look into that :-)

I was severely disappointed at the mic quality of the XP500... $250 phones with a mic that sounds like a $3 walmart PC mic.

I put them up for sale on CL at 150, thanks for the advice guys.
Can anyone give me their idea of a fair price for this headset? Like new condition, and I think I paid $250+tax but wanted to get some input before I list it anywhere. I was thinking $175 locally sounds about right, but not sure of interest level at that price (Christmas is coming up so it may drive up demand).

I love this damn headset and am sad to see it go, but I just sold all the FPS games I use it for (because I'm a dumbass).

I'll get another eventually... Have any better ones hit the market?

ETA: Should add it works with any console (or PC); has RCA inputs as well as optical, and possibly digital (I forget). I believe the wireless bluetooth chat only works with 360 though (wired otherwise)

So, wait... Did Rattlehead just out you as an alter?

Nah, old account. Inactive since back then.

I'm with ya, buddy.

Well, he hasn't had much success as a passer. I assume that when he completes more passes, his body language will tell a different story. I think the criticism is off-base.

I'm going off of my own interpretation of how failure should affect confidence, as well as the way I practice it IRL.

Driven by success
Motivated by failure

I hear this a lot. What is this based on? Also, exactly how does this affect his on-field performance?

It's pure speculation on my part. He doesn't seem to carry himself with the confidence of a leader.

I think the effect on the on-field play is minute, but it most certainly exists to some extent in the amount of drive his teammates have, whether subconsciously or consciously.
Yeah the amount of hype was an issue that led to fans setting themselves up for disappointment.

I recall reading a few posts I believe last weekend saying his completions would be something like 78% (if I recall correctly) if removing the dropped balls from the equation. I haven't verified that myself, and of course a portion of dropped balls could be contributed to by QB mistakes, but even so I believe if the WRs step up, we'll be set.
LSU GranDad, I agree completely with him seemingly not taking charge. I think he has some issues in the leadership department as well as some anxiety issues that aren't necessarily unrealistic given what he has put himself into.

I do see those issues improving, but whether or not they improve enough is the question. I still feel he can be a successful QB even if he is not to improve much in the leadership area. Not ideal, obviously, and I have no delusions of him being a hall of fame QB, but I do feel he can get the job done given time and effort.

He made some bad throws on saturday but beyond that his biggest weakness is not having a receiver who is consistent at catching. Also no receivers can get separation. Avery Johnson would have gotten some PT if he could qualify

I think that sums it up. I wasn't impressed with him vs aTm, but that's really his worst performance I've seen.

Some (the majority, I'd say) of the games he's played, he's exceeded my expectations when you take the WRs mistakes out of the picture.

One thing I've heard a lot is that he can't run - and that's obvious. However, I do like that he shows initiative and puts himself into the belly of the beast trying for a first down, seemingly without hesitation.
I'll make ya granny suck my dick ya know to whiten up her dentures.

He's not as good as most of us expected. But he's what we've got and it's not going to change at this point. Ride with it and hope it gets corrected in the offseason, either with improvement from Mett or with a change at QB.

I agree... I was hoping for more pre-season, but with the offensive issues at hand, I couldn't ask for any better.

I think one huge issue with peoples' perception of his performance is that he was over-hyped (caused by our frustration with our recent QBs and some unreal expectations) and people assigned him a status as a QB who would reignite LSU's offense in his first season as a starter.

I think in the years to come he'll develop nicely.

ETA: I would however like to see more Rivers just to see what we're working with, but despite our coaches' apparent issues in the offense department currently, I'll go ahead and trust their judgment (at least somewhat) that Mett is the better candidate.
So you're disputing that? What are your expectations of him given the WR and O-line situation?
I'm no Mettsiah fanatic sunshine pumper, but I really don't understand the amount of negativity surrounding him.

I think he's performed about as well as could be hoped for at this point. Has he had some issues? Of course; that's to be expected. Are these issues the norm or in any way continually detrimental to our offense as a whole? I don't believe so.

I believe more of the share of the blame falls on the WRs -- much more. I'm not knocking them, they're still progressing also - however, I believe that they are under-performing and that Mett is performing slightly above what is to be expected.

I definitely see Mett as a huge asset compared to our most recent QBs.

If anyone wants to clarify their position on Mett's ineptitude (or lack thereof), please feel free.
To those wondering, the mentioned magazine revenue models have been a bit off base in this thread...

Canceling subscriptions DIRECTLY hurts SI, refusing to buy at newsstand price DIRECTLY hurts SI...

This is how the revenue works for all magazine publishers (with lowest percentage of revenue being all the way to the right):

Advertising > Newsstand Sales > Subscriptions

I've owned successful subscription sales businesses, and was regularly offered $0.25-2.00 for each year of a subscription I sold rather than having to pay the publisher, they paid me. So, 3 years of US Weekly sold @ $29.95/yr, my cost -$2.00/yr, I'm profiting roughly $128 on a $120 sale (later got my publisher contracts revoked for selling below authorized prices; they insisted I sell at $79.95/yr and a competitor reported me (magazine industry is 100% price-fixed).

Publishers make their advertising money based on total circulation numbers. This includes news stand sales as well as subscriptions.

EVERY news stand sale lost and EVERY subscription lost brings these numbers down and directly impacts their main revenue stream, as well as the minute revenue that sales and subs bring in.
