Check out Havana Blue located at the Marriott Morning Star property. My husband and I had two excellent meals (one of which was our rehearsal dinner) during our stay there last October.
I also concur with the Red Hook recommendations.
Make sure you take the ferry over to St. John and enjoy the gorgeous beaches in the National Park over there! If you make it to the other end of St. John, check out the Donkey Diner (home of kick arse food).

Thinking about trying this place out for a friend's birthday dinner, but I seem to recall some bad reviews a few months ago. Has the food improved?

Tried it last week in St. John, USVI and loved it! Does anyone here know where you can buy it in the BR area? (Trying to save the shipping costs from ordering it online)

I love a good curbside burger, mason's burger or a burger grilled on my Weber kettle in my backyard in BR, but NO has Port of Call and, therefore, imho, has the best burger. Hands down.

Great movie. I loved Alan Rickman in it. His face when trying guacamole for the first time is priceless. I pretty much had the same reaction the first time I tried good guacamole.

I've been trolling this board for awhile - its my go to when I'm looking for a restaurant review or somewhere new to try. Decided to take the plunge and contribute after my disappointing experience.
Antoine's

Went to Antoine's for the first time this weekend and had a very meh experience for a New Orleans restaurant. Had oysters Rockefeller and crab au gratin for an appetizer, pompano Pontchartrain and puffed potatoes for entree and baked Alaska for dessert. The only think I was halfway impressed with was the baked Alaska. The restaurant itself was cool with the mardi gras memorabilia, but the food was just okay and the service was below average, especially for a fancy, New Orleans joint. How is this place still around?
