re: Shocking Stat......

I'd be glad to, Mike, if he even remotely lives up to his hype and has a good year. Hope he does!...
Would like to see it but am afraid he'd make too many mental errors as a punt returner. As I mentioned in another thread, Shep unfortunately does not seem like a solid college football player. Human highlight reel in high school doesn't always translate to production in college....

Hate to say it, but Shep seems like a space cadet both on the sidelines and on the field. He lacks "it" whatever "it" is. Crowton and perhaps Miles are partly to blame for his lack of production, but the guy just doesn't seem to be a solid college football player....

At least Webster wasn't a total hot shot like PP7 and was more of a team player. For all of PP7's athletic ability, I for one will not miss him at LSU. I know 95% of ranters feel otherwise....
Good news that LSU has another All-American. But, I must respectfully disagree that LSU will sorely miss PP7. The guy is a hot dog who played his own game rather than the team's game. Sure, he's an incredible athlete and made some big plays (and, granted, teams mostly avoided throwing to him with...

For the Arky game, make it a fun week/game, as ForeLSU suggested. By all accounts the players are very down, as they should be. Make it their week, tell them to just go out and have fun, play with reckless abandon, and beat Arkansas. We haven't run any "trick" plays all season, so throw in a few,...

All Lee needs to do tonight is hand off to Ridley and Shep, and complete a few short slant routes to keep the D halfway honest. Hopefully, those completions are to the guys in white jerseys (assuming we're not wearing purple tonight)....

You said it perfectly, Cheetah Flex. Great post. If LSU wins out and finishes the year strongly, it will be reminiscent of the 2006 squad -- and we all know what happened in 2007! :geauxtigers:...

10-2 losing to Florida or Bama/Ole Miss. If LSU goes 10-2, it will be a strong turnaround from last year and a solid foundation for a hopeful SEC championship run next year....
PP is already better than CW. He is the total package. The only question is can he return kicks or play some offense to elevate his national stature. I'm assuming if he could, we'd have seen it by now....
Not sure he's an upgrade from our receivers who return next year, but is there any doubt that his pure athleticism would be an addition to the offense? The guy is a playmaker and the kind of athlete that should be on the field as much as possible....
He clearly can't win it, or even be seriously considered, if he just plays corner. That's why I wonder whether he can return kicks or play offense. If he can, do we have faith in the coaches that we'd have seen it by now?...

Patrick Peterson for Heisman in 2010?

Posted by September on 11/13/09 at 9:45 pm
PP is without a doubt the best shutdown corner in college football, and he's only a sophomore. The controversy over the no-call INT at Bama has given him some national recognition. He could be a legitimate Heisman candidate next year but there are two issues: 1) Will LSU conduct a PR campaign t...
I second that. Verne should stay where he can make meaningful contributions -- the tower on the 16th hole at Augusta....
