Thanks for the insight Dorothy. We are torn between UPDS and University United Methodist. Leaning toward UUM but UPDS is cheaper and seems just as nice. My spouse and I are both affiliated with LSU so something on/near campus would be ideal and we know that the LSU Child Care Center is near impossible to get in.

Does anyone have any experience with UPDS? It’s -pretty significantly- cheaper than other day schools. Is there a reason for that. Does it feed into UHigh? TIA
Taking some business associates out to dinner in NOLA and I have narrowed it down to these 5. Any thoughts on which would be best to impress?

Already going to Commanders Palace one night, looking for a second.

First, overall great input by previous posters. Nailed it on GSPs. Mine is a little over a year now but I'll add this.... If you have medium house/backyard you have to have an alternative place to work the dog outside of that. A medium yard is really just a place to to poop and pee. If you are planning on training in the yard it's virtually pointless - if you are planning to keep it in the yard make sure you have at least 8 ft fences (they climb). I wouldn't get the dog unless you have some places to train/take it in mind already.

That said, training easy enough if you are dedicated (dedicated meaning you are happy to spend a couple hours a day getting the dog where it needs to be). They are exceptionally quick learners but unlike a lab they do not turn off. They tire and you will tire well before they do.

My biggest struggle, living in a medium size house is that the pointer will always feel busy. Even indoors she is looking for something to do. Something to find etc. can't take my eyes off of her. Store away anything and you have food or otherwise.

Preferably somewhere that has hiking trails and does not have a RV park 30 yards away.

Yes! This was my favorite. Theme song rocked too.

What about ThuderCats?

Carey Mulligan, i'd like to see her in more stuff.

Jeremy Renner, but I think he is making his way up now.

Karl Urban (from Star Trek and LOTR) and Cillian Murphy (Inception and Batman Begins)

I'd say TDKR but obviously you aren't too interested in that or else you wouldn't have posted. Save that for next time yall want to go the movies. You won't have to deal with all the crazies and be looking over your shoulder the whole time.

The other two options aren't even worth discussing.

Looking for movie to watch tonight. Anybody seen this? It has 68% on Rotten Tomatoes but the trailer wasn't too excitable.

Y'all are all picking actresses based on looks. Catwoman is supposed to be sexy, but she is a very complex character. Nearly all of the actresses listed would suck horribly as Catwoman.

Carey Mulligan would be excellent in my opinion. There is something nonthreatening and feminine about her that would make an excellent contrast to the "villainous" nature of the character. I wouldn't call her attractive though, looks too much like she could be your 12 year old kid sister.

Anyway, Jennifer Lawerance would be my first pick. As someone pointed out earlier, there isn't anything overtly attractive about her but she is a solid actress that could portray the character well.
Jennifer Lawrence or Carey Mulligan

Hathaway is about the best they could've gotten from this generation of young, big name actresses.

Anne Hathaway is a joke. She lands roles in big movies but never gives a great performance. The most overrated young actress in hollywood. She will butcher the role of Catwoman.

While a lot of those movies y'all have list are mainly good movie but don't really stay true to the book.

A good adaptation does not necessarily have to be 100% faithful to the source material. Book to film adaptations require at least a minimal amount of digression, otherwise it would never translate well.

If you want a faithful book to movie adaptation watch anything put out by PBS/BBC. While excellent, they are also drawn out and lackluster.

I just can't see it. Think they'd be better off with a series.

Agreed. A 12 episode mini-series would be perfect but I'm still optimistic about the film.

Best book to movie adaptation?

What's the best film adaptation of a book you've read?

One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest
LOTR trilogy
The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo (original Swedish adaptation)
Fight Club

Saving #5 spot for World War Z, hopefully it measures up.
