Fan Day

With or without Tyrann it was another great day. When we were leaving my 7yo told me this was best day of his life. Although he will have many of these during his childhood for him it was today and that makes me smile.

Tommy Hodson without a doubt. I have been with him, his wife and his daughters on several occasions and they are a class act.

quote:I really wish it was this simple. Criticism is the understatement of the year if he was a cop or politician it would be called malfeasance in office.
Can we just drop this already? The man lead the football team to a first time in school history record of 13-0. Even Saban never did that, some people think Saban is light years better.
I agree, it was embarrassing, it was horrible to watch, and I was as mad as everyone else. But bitching and saying F Miles and fire him and this garbage is ridiculous.
The coaching staff's game plan certainly warrants criticism but the rest of this is retarded.
We lost. Move on.

quote:This was no mulligan this was a Gilligan.
I say give the guy one more chance..... I know his unwillingness to pull the plug and throw someone out on the field besides JJ could have resulted in a better outcome but we will never know. Couldn't have been worse than the starter on the field that's for sure.
I say give CLM one more mulligan! After all he was chosen national "Coach of the Year" and rightfully so - before the BCS championship game. He also was being praised as the best coach EVER at LSU before the big game. However, now that the biggest game of the season is over would ANYONE have voted this guy Coach of the Year? - I think not.
So let's move on and while an estimated (by my straw poll) 48% of the state would like to fire the guy this week I think we should give him one more season and see what he comes up with this time.... However if he takes us to the ship for the 2nd straight season and pulls another stunt like this one would you want him gearing up for another campaign for your Tigers? What do you folks think?
Who knows WTF Miles was thinking as the game got continuously worse every single second from the 1st play to the last. Was there ever a thought of abonding the script and changing the process as well as the personnel? My opinion is not NO but HELL no. How else could you explain such madness.... It's true he's all LSU/ours and we love him! I just don't want to see him pull another stunt like this. If he does - NO more mulligans. I can't take another national stage embarrassment like the rematch! I expect great things in 2012! Just hard to figure out the last game in 2011 season..... Geaux Tigers!
re: I thought JJ played well "most" of the year
Posted by Happytiger2011 on 1/15/12 at 11:41 pm to lsumatt
quote:LMFAO!!!!!! He did play most of the year(thank God). We won most of the time in spite of him not because of him. Everyone knows Les should have yanked him after the shouvel pass to Ware and then JJ he goes over and b**ches out Ware. Give me break.
Well at least for him anyway. It seemed like he worked hard in the off season after a relatively strong finish last year (read Bama, Ole Miss, A&M games). The suspension seemed to make him even better. When he came in relief for Lee up to and through the Bama game, JJ played his role quite well. He had no turnovers to my knowledge until the Arky game, ran the option and read's better than he ever has, and threw the ball relatively well. I think he felt like he had something to prove. When Lee and JJ were both playing for those ~4 games, LSU was at its very best imo. JJ was never a liability, but a huge asset to the offense.
Unfortunately, the benching of Lee brought out the worst in JJ imo. He no longer played with a chip on his shoulder and got progressively worse as the season went on. He (and the offense) reverted back to the Crowton offense. It al culminated with whatever that NC game was. Was it just me, or was he pitching the ball on the option with the defender 3 yards away?
The worst thing is that Lee and JJ together at their best may have been a great QB for this team (and for a while they were). I am as pro-Miles as they get, but will never understand why we abandoned a system that worked beautifully from Kentucky through Auburn (40+ ppg), to become one-dimensional. I, like most Tiger fans, are happy the Lee/JJ saga is over.

There is not a person in here that can argue that Les Miles coached that game even close to his pay scale. I'm not a conspiracy theorist so the only other alternative is a dumbass did not prepare properly for the NCG or at the very least was to stupid or arrogant to make a vague resemblance of adjustments. Les looked like the bafoon that a lot of tenured coaches already thinks he is.
Its hard to talk about accountability when you the coach wins 14 games and his conference exceeding expectations for the season.
I recall hearing a SECCG berth would be enough for Les to keep his job.

The Alabama Persona
Posted by Happytiger2011 on 1/5/12 at 11:26 pm
Why do Bama fans walk around like they are the royalty of college football? They had a run in the seventies and have won 2 NC in the last 32 years. It boggles the mind.

When Bear died so did the Bama dominance in the SEC. It had been over 15 years since they had a football championship until 09. The swagger Bama fans try to put on just don't work anymore and hasn't for quite a while so stop it. It only makes the rest us laugh.
