In other news, don't ever post a topic here about anything. Some snob will tell you to use the search button. Then 40 people that clearly have no job, wife, kids and spend 18 hours a day reading every thread will pile on at post lots of :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

At some point we will need to be able to run a balanced offense similar to the one we ran in 2007. A team with a good run D that can play press or just good man coverage will be able to stop our O as it currently is being run.

Get used to these topics being started every day. It doesn't look like the issue is going away.
Sorry I was replying to the OP. I also know how to spell good.

re: Mills and Downs to start

Strange. I never considered Downs to be better than our 4th best DT at any point in his career.
I think he will either have to switch positions or find himself replaced by someone that can run a sub 5 second 40yd dash. Poor dumb guy doesn't realize that he may be lifting himself out of a career. That is not a safety.
NSD brings out fans that don't really follow recruiting. Today was just another defeat for these guys. This has been the hardest month and a half that I can remember as a sports fan. 1st the Hornets implode by trading Paul. Then we have the LSU abortion on Jan. 9th, followed by the Saints not tackling or covering anyone with 2 minutes left.

I just hope that this starts to subside before Mardi Gras. I don't look forward to the angry/depressed binge drinkers and the inevitable open-air domestic abuse that follows.
Very interesting. Thanks for putting that together. I just referenced it while talking a friend off the cliff due to today's perceived bad class.

I still believe that the 2011 class will be seen as the best class a long time.

I'm trying to point out objective facts and draw logical conclusions. Why the need to be so emotional? I think you have me confused with someone else.

Interesting trend. All the charter members of TeamSwag blasting anyone suggesting that the LM/JJ Brokeback Bayou final episode on January 9 might have at least a little to do with the recruits bailing. Direct correlation. Don't even need a spreadsheet for this one.

This is both true and hilarious. The perception of the team attitude seems to range from "unhappy" to poisonous. I think Rivals has us at 17 right now not that that is the best metric.
Our team was embarrassed in it's biggest game under the biggest spotlight. The team that wins those type of games tend to steal a guy or 2. The loser usually doesn't fall off a cliff like this. We may have some quality players but the depth of this class is very weak by LSU standards and anyone saying otherwise should be making hatchet job mockumentaries with Michael Moore.

You sick frick. 17 might be legal in Alabama but not here.

The legal age of consent in Louisiana is actually 17. It's 16 in Alabama.

What exactly are you confused about? The Ravens and the 85' Bears being the exception to the rule. Maybe you grew up abroad and follow soccer? I await your educated reply.
I dont get all you guys Saying "____ and it isn't even close."

Collins would be a huge addition. He is clearly a special athlete. Getting Collins means keeping him away from Bama.

That being said, Kiel is the bigger get and it IS a close call. Kiel has potential to make our offense unbeatable. There may come a time when we don't manufacture points off of turnovers and have to have a legit passing game. QB is the most important position in major American sports and that's not debatable. The chance at a truly elite QB prospect slightly trumps an Elite defensive player that might end up and the hated rival.

Why did the fat kid from Tech win this again?

re: Matt Flynn?

Of course not. I expect him to make about between 4.5-6 million. I forgot about the Kolb mega deal. I was referring to his Philadelphia numbers.

About 8 teams need a legit starter at QB.

Flynn is making about 550k this year. He will make a little more next year.

Several teams have interest in Flynn as a potential starter. He has been a hot commodity ever since the Pats game at the end of last season. He wont be a backup in NOLA. Starters get starter money. The Packers should have traded Flynn and capitalized on his value. They were keeping him as an expensive safety blanket considering the trade value. Now his contract is expiring and a team in need of a starter will make him a Kevin Kolb type offer.

Hard Hitting Hilliard sounds like something an 80 year old or a kindergarten teacher would come up with.

Atleast if he were The Hammer we could bring back hammer pants or hold up posters of Tom Delay

LSU hasn't lost in a dome since 1995. Don't forget the 96 Peach Bowl. It goes further back than that but I don't know how much it does.

LSU lost to Georgia in the Georgia Dome in 2005.

not so fast my friend. Both LSU QB's have been vastly underated by the LSU faithfull. Jefferson has a lot of simularities to Tebow, both in stature and playing style. In fact he has more NFL upside than Tebow. Lee also displays the quick release and accuracy that is valued by NFL teams and has shown during that 8 game stretch that he also has NFL level talent.

I'm sorry but this has to be a joke.
1. Neither player will be drafted.
2. Neither player will make an NFL roster at the conclusion of preseason.

It is possible, although extremely unlikely, that Jefferson may make a practice squad somewhere. The reality is that both players will begin life after football on January 10th unless one of them wants to attempt an arena career.

Tim Tebow completed 66.4% of passes and had 88 passing and 57 rushing TD's in college. I see what youre thinking though. Maybe there will be a GM dumber than Josh Mcdaniels that might think "Hey, I want a really crappy version of Tim Tebow to run my offense."
