re: Homeland 11.3.13 through tonight

The burka chick does seem off to me - continuing to wear the burka, being suprised that the CIA racial profiles, Saul and her's conversation about trying to turn Javadi against his country...preview appears that we will get some more insight into her.
Obviously, the scene where Carrie and Peter Quinn leave the kid behind last night had meaning for both of them - Peter is still struggling with killing the boy in episode 1, Carrie is knocked up.
My guess is Brody is actually somehow working with Carrie and Saul - very mysterious that he would end up in Venezuela where Javadi has been running many operations and his "captor" knows Carrie.
On a final note - Mira should just go back to Mumbai - she does not deserve that gourmet kitchen and beautiful house

This has nothing to do with last night's episode...but Sesame Street did a pretty good paradoy of Homeland, entitled "Homelamb"

re: Restaurants in Boston, Niagara Falls, & Buffalo
Posted by Kit De Luca on 5/15/13 at 10:28 am to geauxfish24
Preface this with I'm from Buffalo, went to Niagara University and vacationed on Cape Cod every summer
Every restaurant in Niagara Falls is touristy, go into Lewiston its an adorable village and eat at Brickyard - order the dry-rub wings!
In Buffalo - Definitely go to the Anchor Bar like someone mentioned, some argue that Duffs' wings are better but I'm still partial to Anchor Bar. Also, Pearl Street Grill and Brewery is good - order a "Beef on Weck".
If you find a candy store in the Buffalo area buy some "Sponge Candy".
In Boston, can't go wrong with anything in the North End. Lobster rolls are great but I tend to think the scallop rolls are even better!

Never watched the Godfather movies but have the blu-ray box set.
Best friend had never seen The Goonies, so I made her watch it and as she put it "I had no attachment to it, I guess since I didn't see it as a kid"

Anyone receive their Louisiana Tax Refund yet?
Posted by Kit De Luca on 2/14/13 at 10:06 am
I submitted my state taxes on January 30th, and the refund status on the LDR website as of today says "Our records do not indicate a refund was due that matches the criteria you entered" - which is bogus, just wondering if anyone else has this issue or if they are just behind on processing

although i still love this show and cant wait til season 3, season 1 was so much better than season 2. the writing started to go down the drain the last few episodes, with so many damn plot holes, and basically making shite up as they go along.
Homeland is like bad pizza, even when its not great its still better than most things

Eight O'Clock Coffee is pretty good for a cheaper brand, I recently changed it up and bought the mocha flavor and was pleasantly surprised.

Anyone find it odd that Roya Hamad was still in the clothes and stilettos she was wearing when captured. I would have guessed she would be in an orange jumpsuit at that point - Estes giving her preferntial treatment?

How do we really know that Nazir is dead?
That's something that I've been wondering - in the case of Bin Laden he had several look alikes that were used; when he was captured they had to do a DNA test to verify it was him.
(Although I'm pretty sure Nazir is dead)

i know we dont know what will happen yet, but IMO Carrie broke Brody way too easily there. I know they had the confession and all, but crying and holding hands and all that shite....that sappy speech she gave....did he really fall for all of that?
I think thats what they were going for exactly; they want the viewer to question whether or not that worked or if he is just going to act as a triple spy.
For the record, I didn't really buy it etiher, you can never trust a ginger.
