Zachary will act like jackasses on and off the field as long as Cassard is there or any other coach that has this type of charactistics. They are the most classless, dirties playing team in the state. Cassard better be banded from even texting to his assistants. He could coach from his phone and still win probably. If he is suspended it should be a complete suspension, no contact on or off the field till it is over. Cassard needs to go, he brought this behavior into Zachary from Barbe, the Von Rossenburgs followed him into Zachary, they are originally from Lake Charles. Most the guys that were born in Zachary and raised there aren't like that, but there are 5 or 6 that have taken on his character and his antagonistic style. This group of players and parents have no respect for the LHSAA, prinicipal or the Central Office. They don't listen and they don't take no for an answer. If you don't give them what they want then they go find a lawyer and threaten to stop play for all 5A teams till they get their way. How would that have been fair to the rest of the 5A teams that did the right thing all year long? But that is Zachary, they are the most selfish group of players, parents, and coaches. They only care about themselves and no one else.
The facts are that the other schools disciplined their players and coaches once they returned. Tuerlings did,and more then just for one game. The list of disciplines and actions taken towards the players and coaches were presented to the appeal committee. Coaches had written reprimands in their files and also have served suspensions. Zachary had done nothing to Cassard, they didn't touch him. He allowed his team to act the way they did, he had no control over that group of boys in Monroe. He even encourages it on and off the field. Does anyone know about the Hazing issue before the season started and the hazing of the freshman baseball player. I am sure that was not reported to the LHSAA. It had to do with members of the baseball team but hidden from the LHSAA and handled on the school level. The three players who did the hazing were kicked out of Zachary, supposable but Cassard was not held accountable for what they did to the other player in his locker room.

At the time of the appeal, Zachary Community Schools officials announced they would take no additional action. But parents and fans got involved, launching a Twitter campaign via WBRZ-TV.

Before the ruling to put the team back in the playoffs, Henderson said Zachary had no additional appeal options unless new evidence could be presented to the LHSAA executive committee.

“I felt like I had to ask the question to see if there was another option for an appeal,” Watts said. “I’m going to continue to try and find something we could use for an appeal.

“It’s a tough situation because I feel for our seniors. We have some very passionate parents, and I understand their point of view. What they don’t understand is that the LHSAA doesn’t operate like a court of law. The committee makes the best decisions they can based on the information that’s presented to them.”

So who is really in charge in Zachary,I would say parents/players with an Attorney on deck 1 and administration 0.

Zachary back in playoffs. So who has the "bigger stick"?????

check out the advocate: in a quote by a parent:

“What they’re doing to this team and this community is such an injustice,” Zachary parent Randall Von Rosenberg said earlier Friday. “What they’re doing is such an abuse of power on so many levels. You’ve got principals on that committee who are jealous of Zachary because it’s the best school district in the state, and we’re the No. 1 team (in the 5A baseball power ratings).

“Use some common sense … it the was bottom half of the first inning when (the fight) happened and we were in the field. Teurlings stormed the field, and we defended ourselves. If that hadn’t happened there wouldn’t have been a hearing. There’s been a lot of talk about trash-talking and such. They don’t have sportsmanship hearings for that, and it happens at every game.

“That shouldn’t be part of the issue here. I wish someone … like Governor (Bobby) Jindal … would intervene on our behalf.”

look at wafb for some coverage. Notice the students in the pictures. Word was there were over 100 students that either checked out, didn't show up at school, or were taken out by their parents to go to the protest. Is this classified as an excused abscence or not, The last time I checked the Dept of Education and most school systems didn't allow for students to skip school to protest a decision made by an authority having jurisdiction over them. So is Zachary now teaching this behavior to even the students, that they can miss school to go and fight against adults and their decisions because they don't agree with them. Will the school allow these same students to protest on their property against the administration or faculty when they don't get the grade they want in a class. The issue may be that Zachary schools never did anything to Cassard. He has not been punished in anyway for the actions of his team or himself. I can guarantee that the other schools did more then just suspend their players for one game, as well as, reprimand their coaches. Zachary doesn't care what behavior their coaches teach the players as long as they win. The parents don't care either for the most part.

Quote: "This will be the toughest defense so far for the Jackets district wise."

Sorry I missed last week, was watching the Baker/Parkview Mala but had someone there who kept me up to date with what was going on. I wonder what the coach of central will pull out of his "hat" this week for his Defense. I am sure he has something good. Hats off to the offense, it seemed they had the wheels on early. That will always help a defense when the offense gets a good start. I am sure it will be a good game if everyone keeps their cool. My suggestion to Central and Denham, as well as the other Baton Rouge teams and surrounding areas, play your game, play the play and go back to the huddle, keep your emotions in check. Hint: I would not be surprised if there wasn't a meeting with officials to talk about some of the on-field issues this past week and they are going to be strict going into this week of play. Just saying. Play hard this week.

Quote: Lots of rumors, I can assure you Dotson is a good football coach. Unrealistic expectations can cause people to sour fast. Dotson ran that program when Edwards was the head coach and on top of that Edwards is not much of a "football coach" he is just a good guy. The people in Central need to be patient, there was a reason Edwards left when he did, and you are seeing that reason right now.

I am not bashing Dotson and I am not a new "whatever you referred to me as". He is a good guy for the most part. Don't know him personally and doubt I ever will. He has had his share of off the field issues that he has had to deal with that he shouldn't have to deal with. This team is so young it is scary at times. Watching them that Zachary game was exciting and brought back memories of a few years ago when Central made it to the semis, and I was there then not to mention the quarters. As far as the kid that was born in 1993, I am not a scorned parent by far. But it appears that trust placed in some players isn't really going all that well on and off the field and I am sure he would agree to an extent. This man needs to concentrate on coaching and building a team, not have to worry about all this junk that is being brought in. I am sure that it will all come out before this year is over, but no coach should have to worry about the next slug fest, when the next prank is going to happen that hurts someone or damages innocent peoples property, or phone calls that one of his players is in trouble. This guy was paid to coach and he needs to do that. Just a note: returning players from last year on defense - 4. Everyone else is new and they have had little time at this level prior to this year. The rest of the defense is Juniors, Sophmores and an outstanding Freshman that shocked many last week. So if you think I am a dotson basher, no I am not but I don't like to hear about all the stuff that is going on. What players do unfortunately reflects on their coach, which is not fair to this man. True the play calling is questionable but who am I to question that, hey if it worked and Central scored we would have loved him for it and take him out to dinner or something. What I did see is all the finger pointing, yelling at each other on the field and justificating to the coach why players didn't or couldn't make plays, that will destroy even the best of teams. After 20 yrs of coaching I assure you I am no idiot or whatever that punk referred to me as. I have two state championship rings and one national championship ring on my fingers, how many do you have.

You are the one that needs to get a life and grow up.

Anyone that will call the Central players "little tits" is really out of line and very rude.

But I am sure you don't care about being rude and immature. But I am sure that if you think so much of the coach he wouldn't like you talking about his players and calling them "little tits" either.

I wonder what those players dads will think of you telling all of them to "get off your kid's jock", that was real mature of you.

Or then going after a school that has nothing to do with this and talking negatively about the players and parents of Central Private.

Man you just covered everyone didn't you in the community of Central.

Lets hope that this week will be better for these players and that they walk out with a win. They deserve it, with what they have gone through this year.

You don't want to support the players and only demean them and their parents then don't comment. Now who is the idiot. :spank: :spank: :spank:

Nope all you have to do is stand still, listen, and watch. You can find out alot when you attend a game and listen to talk on the sidelines, even when you are a visitor. Lots of coaches leaving over the last two years, the look of the team has changed, look at other forums and they talk about kids leaving, hand writings on the wall if you have been in high school athletics long enough. There is no secrets in Central or throughout the area about what is going on and how things have changed. I hate it sometimes because Central had a great thing going there for a while. Sad Sad

"One bad season is all you get in Central? Man tough place?"

Dotson made his own choices over the past couple of years. He has run off some really good coaches, isolated other coaches and chosen to play underclassman over going for upperclassman leadership. He has put his trust in players that have become a cancer to the team, tore up property of innocent individuals with little recourse, made up a gang to intimidate and harass underclassman if they don't fit in or join, and created divisions all year long in parts of the program. It is a forest right. It is far beyond a bad season. No one knows what goes on "behind closed doors", just a point, last weeks 5 in the box against Zachary's power 7 was only because he didn't trust his secondary against Zachary's pass game but those in the secondary will still be there after giving up so many touchdowns for another game, while others I am sure were blamed for their mistakes and sat on the bench. That is the way it goes in Central.

Central vs Walker (Central's Homecoming) Dotson' has to have win or they say he is gone.
