JUST IN TIME FOR FOOTBALL SEASON - THE PLATES ARE HERE....sort of :) I got mine today, pretty sweet. The first 100 (special low number orders) are available and the rest of the allotted 1000 are right around the corner...if you signed up and paid the manufacturing fee, you should be contacted by LSU Atlanta - if not, reach out to them to get your receipt and ETA on your plate. If you haven't signed up and paid the manufacturing fee - don't delay and use the LSU Atlanta registration link to get moving!!!

The Plates are Coming
First 100 in Tag Office by End of Week; Everyone Else to Be Notified Soon

Reports are flying in from our premium 1-100 number plate owners that they have finally received their letters instructing them to go to their county's main tag office at the end of this week to pick up their specialty plate.

To find the main county tag office for you, go to GA County Tag Offices scroll down and enter your county. They say the main office is the one closest to the county courthouse. There is also a phone number in the letter if you have questions. (We hoped they would sort Fulton County's by zip code and spread them to tag offices nearer to owners but that was not to be- sorry, we tried.)

If you reserved a 1-100 number plate and have not received your letter by end of day today, please email us and we will try to assist in resolving any address change issues etc.

NEXT: The tag people wanted to clear these first reserved plates out of their offices before opening redemption of remaining randomly numbered plates. It will probably be another 10-14 days before everyone else can go. The process has changed more than once in the past few months so we will let them handle the instructions to avoid confusion. Stay tuned for updates.

Once the notices are all out for existing plate reservations LSU Atlanta will aggressively promote new LSU specialty plate sales. People will still need to go through the chapter to get a $25 manufactuing fee receipt before the state will issue a plate. Inquiries at the tag office will be referred to the chapter.

VICTORY FOR LSU
License Plate Goal (Finally!) Reached

It's as if Papa Noel has come early and adorned LSU Atlanta's Christmas Tree. We hoped and believed it could be done before the end of football season. Now it is a reality - WE have reached the $25,000 goal line to to get LSU specialty license plates into production in Georgia! Thanks to everyone who signed up and paid their manufacturing fee, and especially to the many folks who sent in additional donations from $50 to $3,500 when we were allowed by the state to raise money to reach the goal.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
We are preparing the required paperwork to submit to the state of Georgia with our manufacturing payment. We are waiting for the state to let us know how long it will take to get the plates produced and made available. We have been told previously it is a process of weeks rather than months to get them out but we have asked for specific expectations based on submitting our paperwork at this time.

So while we cannot answer every question you have yet, please be patient. Do not try to contact the tag office and hold off on contacting us with questions while we work with them to arrange for fulfillment. We will report what will happen and when in full detail very soon.

And remember, this is not the end of our efforts. We are STILL TAKING ORDERS - keep telling your friends to go to our web page and reserve their manufacturing fee to be among the first to get a plate. Meanwhile, let visions of Tiger eyes dance through your head.

LATEST UPDATE!

We've raised $23,100 towards the $25,000 goal. with the matching program in place, we only need another $950 to get our LSU plates into production. That's only 38 more license plates or a handful of people to make a few extra donations...keep spreading the word, if you haven't ordered yet - don't wait and if you can spread a little extra holiday cheer then send in a donation. This will be the perfect way to end an epic football season!

BIG NEWS UPDATE - we've just passed the $22,500 mark and with the dollar for dollar matching program, we only need another $1,250 in plate orders and/or donations to get our LSU plates ready for manufacturing....if you haven't ordered yet or donated and can, please do so now with the links below...if you haven't spread the word, spread it...if you have done any/all of these things then a big THANK YOU from a true Tiger fan in ATL!

It's legit. LSU Atlanta is running it. And every school that wants a license plate in every state ever has had to go through this. Texas Tigers had people reminding everyone to donate or sign up for a tag on here too.

Thanks for the support and YES, it is totally legit. Follow the news/progress on the LSU Atlanta Alumni Chapter website here:

LSU Atlanta
So, the most recent update - we're making awesome progress...keep getting your donations/orders in and keep spreading the word.

We raised almost $3000 in the past 2 weeks and we have just gotten an anonymous pledge to match the next $3500 dollar for dollar. The LSU Atlanta chapter has also agreed to match the remaining $1500 dollar for dollar to get us to our goal.

This means, we only need to raise another $5000 from the community at large and we'll have our goal to pay for the plates manufacturing fee. Every little bit counts, so if you can donate even just $25 (more is better) or if you haven't ordered your plate yet, do it now. GEAUX TIGERS!

when are you going to deliver? I've had my order in for 2 years!

my understanding is the plates will start being issued as soon as the required manufacturing fee is raised and that all depends on how much "support" we get with this final push to make it happen. most of us have had our order in since the first time this program got started 2 years ago, but the Atlanta chapter alumni board has struggled to raise the necessary funds and is now making a big final push to spread the word and encourage everyone to contribute whatever they can to reach the funding goal we need to get the plates manufactured...we're almost there, just need everyone to spread the word and get their orders/donations in now!

PS - I'm not on the Alumni board. I am just an active member of the ATL chapter that REALLY wants an LSU license plate, so I'm doing my part to help spread the word, foster the program and solicit interest to help make this a reality. Personally, I've ordered multiple plates and made cash donations (as much as I can afford) - now, I'm trying to support the cause by spreading the word with these forums. I've also worked with the LSU Alumni Association to get an article written that will be published in the next issues of their newsletter and magazine.

in grad school in georgia, but not a resident or i'd be happy to donate

well don't let your non-resident status discourage you from "donating" to a great cause...there is a link to just donate via paypal and it can be as little as $25 - every little bit helps!
so i just got word that there will be a write-up about our efforts in the next issue of the LSUAA magazine...ask and ye shall receive - now, let's just hope that it reaches some more folks who want to get license plates or even better, some alums with generous donation pockets to help out our cause!

I've mentioned to the Atlanta chapter that we should solicit e-mail addresses from the LSUAA (or ask to do send an e-mail for us) and/or advertise in the Alumni magazine. No response.

great idea...no promises, but I'll see what I can do since I seem to have someone's ear at the moment...and I'm told we're already getting traction -> couple of big donations came in the past 24 hours and a handful more applications...keep spreading the word!

I paid for one. Other university's outside of the state with their names on the Georgia plate include: Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Florida State and Tennessee.

Excellent. yeah, i heard that Alabama and Tennessee were gonna be issuing their plates this year. i also heard that Ole Miss and UNC are pretty close to hitting their number and getting their plates...

Been waiting for years! We haven't moved the needle in a while.

Yeah, that's why I took it upon myself to "push" the chapter's campaign a little bit on these message boards...I have it on "good authority" that they are seriously trying to make this happen as quickly as possible and I'm itching to get the plates on my vehicles.

All for it, no doubt. Been following this for 2 years now, but we have just never been able to get the numbers. Hopefully we can soon. And I'll be in line.

yeah, i know the economy is tough for everyone but we really just need 500 fans to either order a new plate or donate $25 (more if you can swing it) and we're there! personally, I skipped the booze on Saturday and donated the money I saved from not drinking one day out of my weekend...small price to pay to make this happen

clicked to get one and didnt work

MY BAD...I typo'd the damn link...it's fixed/updated now...get your order in!

I have ordered mine, I just wish we could get the rest of the orders that are needed to actually get the thing printed and on my car.

me too...spread the word and share the links to the Atlanta Alumni chapter website so others can order/donate...let's make this happen!!!

:geauxtigers:

Is it possible to buy one just like that, or am i gonna have to move back to ga? I know it sounds strange but i got a lil collection of plates from diff states i lived in. I got a loUiSiAna one that i havent seen on any cars since early 90s that is my fav.

not sure about that - you probably need to come on back to GA :banghead:

but if I hear of anything like being able to buy a plate that isn't registered to an actual vehicle, I'll let ya know...

sent my money in over a year ago. Where do we stand? Will I get interest? gatiger

yeah, I'm in the same boat - I'm just spreading the word for the Alumni chapter because I REALLY want the license plate in my hands at some point in the near future

apparently the money can't be held in an interest bearing account b/c non-profit org or something like that, but we're about halfway there to collecting the funds we need (so i'm told) and if we can get the rest of the manufacturing fee collected, then the State will start production...

let's GEAUX Tigers!
