USA offered to move our October 29 Homecoming game to November 19 to accommodate UF/LSU playing on 11-19 and USA/LSU playing on October 29, but it was not the option selected.

The USA band could have gone to Mississippi State (and enjoyed a win) instead of LSU and now they got neither. It must suck lol. I think this leaves their only trip this season as Louisiana Lafayette, which has already happened.

The only thing is this would be a second FCS game for the Jags... so the win wouldn't count towards bowl eligibility. Not that we were expecting a win in Baton Rouge, but we lose an appealing fun game for fans to play a 1-4 FCS team. This game will probably get scheduled, but it will mostly be because USA doesn't want two bye weeks in a row.

Nope.

We lost the chance to play LSU in Death Valley. You know our players were excited about that. We lost exposure to recruits in Louisiana that ULL and ULM can't provide us (and LA is an area we were targeting). We lost a TV game. We now have two off-weeks in a row, although this could change if we play Presbyterian. Yeah we got 1.5 million, but we would have still gotten 900K if we played the game.

I know a lot of you think of our young program as a cupcake, but we did beat Mississippi State and #19 San Diego State this season, so losing LSU to play a 1-4 FCS team is not exciting in the least. We might not be an SEC team, but we all grew up on SEC football and our fans were excited about this game.

I don't think anyone would agree to it. USA offered to move our homecoming game to allow UF/LSU to have November 19 and play LSU on October 29 instead. Georgia State and Georgia Southern in the Sun Belt also agreed to it as the change would effect them. That was not what happened, so I don't see why any other date would be agreed upon.

IMO this is a loss for USA as well. Yeah we get the 1.5 million, but we were going to get 900K anyway. But now we lose the game in Death Valley, exposure in an area we are trying to recruit more in (that ULL and ULM can't give us), we lost a TV game, and now we have the issue of only having 11 games this season and what to do about a twelfth game.

Florida and the SEC sure screwed the pooch on this one. At least send Florida to Mobile for basketball game or baseball series.

South Alabama might be new to football (added football in 2009 and full FBS in 2013) but we're not a typical cupcake. We beat Mississippi State and #19 San Diego State this year.

But if we are a cupcake, can we at least have sprinkles?

Presbyterian is FCS. I'm a South Alabama fan. I was referring to USA playing a second FCS game if Florida and LSU buyout their games to play on 11/19.

Playing an FCS team doesn't help South Alabama at all, as we've already played our FCS team. Finebaum is dumb. LSU doesn't need to lose the revenue from the home game and have to pay South Alabama the buyout because Florida wasn't able to make a decision. Florida is being selfish; it isn't like this hurricane just appeared.

So Florida has 7 home games, then the game in Jacksonville with Georgia. That means 8 of their 12 games are in Florida. Wow. Their road games are at Kentucky, Auburn, South Carolina, and LSU.
