I know in Arky there are places called Slim Chickens. They are OK but not Cane's. Only plus is they sell beer.

I know Gentlemen got the limelight as far as album releases from Afghan Whigs but Black Love is best album by far.

I figure $20 for a variety of different places is pretty good deal. Haven't tried some of those wing joints.

Truth about the strip clubs above. They were a lot better when the girls could get naked. Only downside was you couldn't drink at the club. Juice/water/cokes only. I assume that since they aren't naked anymore you can drink in the club? Haven't been to one there since the new law was passed.

Lived there for 15 years. I had a great time there.

Manilow Concert Rescheduled

Posted by checkurhead on 1/28/14 at 2:16 pm
Official statement below:

Manilow Baton Rouge Concert Postponed to Monday, February 3

Baton Rouge, LA - Due to the weather conditions in Baton Rouge and the State of Emergency declared by Governor Bobby Jindal, we have postponed the Barry Manilow Concert scheduled for Wednesday evening and rescheduled the concert for Monday, February 3rd.

Tickets for the original date will be honored for the February 3rd concert.

“I’m sorry that we’ve had to reschedule,” Manilow said, “but feel better knowing that everyone will be home safe and sound on Wednesday.”

“I’d like to thank everyone at the Baton Rouge River Center, SMG, Bill Rogers Presents, and my own cast and crew for working so quickly to re-arrange schedules to make the February 3rd concert possible,” Manilow added.

Tickets for Monday’s concert start at $19.99 and are available online at Ticketmaster.com, in person at the Baton Rouge River Center Box Office, or by calling 1-800-745-3000.

Yup. Lived here for 7 years.

Just sayin you should expect more from your government services. We had ice storms many times up north but they never shut down a state for days. You might be without power for a day or two due to tree limbs but at least you could get to work and earn a living.
Street, bridge and road prep would likely be cheaper than paying countless hours of State trooper and police overtime. Not to mention the lost man hours that happen with a shutdown of state government.
Enjoy sitting in traffic tomorrow and Wed.

Buy an ice scrapper.
Agreed. This is a gigantic joke. Not that southerners don't know what to do but that their government leaders are forewarned for weeks in advance about these storms and make no preparation in advance. They have to wait until the SECOND ice/snow event to get a game plan.

Keeping highways, bridges and streets clear is a basic service of state and city government in 90% of other states. This state has shown it can handle catastrophe. However, for any bit of snow or ice the answer is to simply shut down? Really? That is not an answer. The storm last week and tomorrow wouldn't phase any other part of the nation. Here the game plan is simply close everything. What a joke. Citizens of this state should expect more from their state and local leaders.
Been there a few times. The beaches are nice. Hotels are quality. We enjoyed it.

Sherwood is great too. They have several specialists. We had an eye removed from Glaucoma for one of our dogs there. They were great to deal with as well.

She and the staff are great.
