I agree. I just purchased an Xbox series X for the same reason as the OP. Lots of options on eBay with games, controllers and headsets for half the price of new.

Look up Tom’s keys. I rented a programmer from them. I bought keys from Amazon, had them cut, then programmed myself. I think it ended up costing $60 a key total.
