"no resolution, as some have already begun tweeting. Athletic Director David Brandon and LSU head coach Les Miles did meet in Baton Rouge tonight, with Brandon returning to Willow Run airport in Ypsilanti just before 11:00 p.m. Sources tell us there was no deal made one way or the other, so expect this to drag on for at least another day. Miles is set to address the AFCA with a speech in Dallas tomorrow. There is a team meeting scheduled for 4:00 p.m. at Schembechler Hall."

There is a team meeting tomorrow. Brandon needs to be in A2 for that. Perhaps talks will continue tomorrow?

I don't. But, haven't heard Loeffler tied to him like I have to Hoke. So, perhaps wishful thinking.

My biggest concern is that I think he'd hire Scot Loeffler as his OC. Don't get me wrong, I like Scot. But, he's a pro style guy. And that doesn't fit the current roster. Thus making a tough transition more difficult.

My understanding was Hoke chose not to interview at Minnesota/Indiana.

Actually, Balas (in answering a poster question) said that his gut wasn't because he thought Les would say no.

It is widely speculated in the Michigan community that Carr doesn't like Miles. Carr's opinion matters to some high ranking officials. So, I think Carr can be involved insomuch as to mend that fence. That would go a long way to getting Miles an appropriate offer and giving Miles the best chance at success after the fact.

"They think (hope) based on what they're hearing from their sources that they're putting a package to keep him and think they can get him to stay if Michigan offers."

Part of me thinks that if UM went public that they want to interview Miles then it has to be close to a done deal. They wouldn't want to be publicly turned down after Harbaugh (& Pat Fitzgerald even though it is unknown if UM had interest).
On the other hand, I thought Harbaugh was near a done deal too. So, who the hell knows.

The staff at The Wolverine are good with solid sources. The issue here is that Dave Brandon is on lock down right now. So, they only have a fraction of the info.

Clarification via rivals...the athletic dept isn't giving any interviews to the media today. Not that Brandon didn't conduct interviews (not that there is confirmation that there were any today).
