We rent a beach condo that has DIRECTV but not the subscription DVR service. Is there a separate dvr that I can purchase to hook up to the TV when we are staying at the unit? I would really like to record certain sporting events when we are away from the condo. TIA...

Without question, Lafayette does. Those University of Louisiana at Johnston Street fans are the worst. More big red A's in their pickup truck windows than you will see in Birmingham too....
