I saw Downs play on TV about a month ago and 2 plays really stood out to me. On the first play Downs was playing defensive tackle and a running back found a hole and ran through it and into the second level wide open running full speed, Downs was running about 5 yards behind him and not gaining ground on the back, but not losing ground either, and while he didn't catch him and make the tackle, what impressed me was he didn't give up on the play running 5 yards behind the back and til he crossed the goal line. On that play Downs showed he had a motor and runs very well for his size.

The other play that stood out, again Downs was at DT and at the snap, he bullrushed his man knocking him backwards on his butt, when a blocker does this it's a pancake, when a DT does it, i'm not sure what it's called but it was a very impressive display of power.
So what I saw was a big kid who has speed, power and a motor. :geauxtigers:

saban's players

ok, seems like Miles did better with Saban's players than Saban did with Saban's players, so go brush your tooth and stfu!

It COULD be tough, but I think it'd be tough for Bama to hold on to him.

I can't be optimistic about that scenario, I have to take the kid at his word.

He will be offered by LSU and will turn away the TIDE and come home................

I don't want to be the one to burst anyones bubble but,

In this morning's issue of "The Birmingham News" Sentimore said this,

quote:

"They have everything I need in a program," Sentimore told BamaOnline.com. "I got tired of waiting on LSU. If LSU did offer me later down the road, I wouldn't take it. This is a solid commitment to Alabama."

Sentimore committs to Tide

re: Jarrett Lee/Kodi Burns

That's my point, it's that when Lee was called on, he was ready and delivered, the Auburn coaches don't have any confidence in Burns and I think it all goes to which coaching staff is better at developing players, and I'm sayin that it's Miles/Crowton etc. :geauxtigers:

Jarrett Lee/Kodi Burns

Jarrett Lee and Kodi Burns were both 4* Quarterbacks in the 2007 recruiting class. Burns played some last year and is a Soph. Lee, last year didn't play and is a redshirt freshman.

I think it's interesting to note and a reflection of the relative coaching abilities of Miles/Crowton versus Tuberville/Franklin, that in a critical, pivotal game like versus Auburn, Burns was on the sideline watching his team lose,(not ready to play), while on the other side, Lee, was on the field crafting a rags to riches, fairy tale of a story, leading the Tigers to a historic win(obviously ready to play).

Miles>Tuberville.....Crowton>Franklin

If you're a 4* or 5* high school senior, call LSU! :geauxtigers:

think this is one thing the media and Miles haters all around are going to finally have to let go of. I think this is what makes this victory that much sweeter.

And it only took 3 years and 3 games into year 4!
Saban started the ball rolling, but Miles has built on that foundation, and with some outstanding coaching hires, excellent recruiting, good coaching, and great leadership has elevated us into a Perennial Power! It's Miles' team, has been Miles' team and he gets all the credit! :geauxtigers:

re: Jim Hawthorne.

I like Hawthorne and I'm not retarded. As a matter of fact, I'm an ex Radio Announcer/News Director so I know a little about broadcasting. Hawthorne may make an occasional error, who doesn't. But the energy and emotion he brings to his broadcasts are without eqaual, his high energy calls really add to the game and can, when the circumstances of the game and play call all come together can give a Tiger fan chills! He also is much more honest than most other broadcasters, if the Tigers stink, he'll say it. Overall I think he's one of the best I've heard, I enjoy listening to him and want him to continue as "the Voice of the Tigers"! :geauxtigers:

Unlike many Rantards, I don't live on this board, I pop in and out, and earlier, while in, I happened across this highly unusual story, I went back a couple of pages and didn't see any postings relating to it, so I thought it worthy of sharing with the board. Please excuse me for posting an already posted topic. Obviously I wouldn't knowingly commit such a heinous act! :geauxtigers:
