I don't really have a preference between Nvidia and AMD, I was just a little more familiar with Nvidia.
The RAM is probably overkill and I am pretty clueless when it comes to the best brands. ...

The $1,500 is for tower/keyboard/mouse. I haven't done any research in kb/m though.
With respect to the monitor, I was planning on getting a 120hz/1080p monitor and maybe upgrading to a 1440p monitor later on.
I will use it to play a variety of games, but I'll probably still play a lot of t...
