Doom alpha registration

It's active now on both XB1/PS4/PC. I signed up a couple hours ago and got my code for XB1 in just under an hour.

If anyone is down for this weekend, my xbox live tag is redkillroy.

I was in the first one and it sucked.

They're doing another one?

Yep. This one is pure multiplayer though.

They have a youtube link up with gameplay from this weekend.

I'm confused, they did a closed alpha at the end of October, which I was in.

So they are doing the same one again this weekend? Your video is about the first one in October, uploaded Oct 22nd.

I'll give you the link to endgadet.

So you didn't buy Wolfenstein: The New Order, but you still want early access to the new Doom game? Run, don't walk to the sign-up page and get your information in (those who bought Wolfenstein last year should just search for the download on their respective gaming platforms), because this weekend it's taking testers for the test version on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam. The website is (predictably) crushed by gamers seeking a return to demon-filled corridors of their youth, but with access promised "first-come, first-serve" it's time to give that F5 key or auto-refresh script a workout. Good luck, but if you don't get in then maybe this quick taste of some multiplayer footage will help.

The alpha is booting up right now, i'll let you know if it's the same map.

Yep. It's team deathmatch on heatwave.

Lame, I'm automatically in it since I was in the first but not much of a desire to play the same stuff again, hopefully the beta will have some new content.

Doom's never been multiplayer, right?

I mean, outside of lans and 24k modem multiplayer back in the early 90s (I miss those days), nah.

Early 2000s, ZDaemon and zdoom provided multiplayer servers for players though.

So far, the alpha is ripping out elements of Quake 3's multiplayer HARD. But it's not as fast, not as paced as well as the arena shooters of the 90s were.
