re: Black Lives Matter | What They Want (list inside)

Have you seen what Ben and Jerry’s said? It’s the same general standard. Without taking responsibility for creating a racist socio-economic system (reparations), there is no potential offer to inequality.
Difficult issues, no doubt, but you should read up on the facts of all the companies “bowing” before the movement.

I’m not saying those factors don’t play in, but you can’t limit it to those 5 issues.
“A deep socially and family seeded poor perspective on minority inequality from aging officers that policed in the 70s and 80s and has been passed down to the younger generation” (You can’t forget the demonization of Hispanics and isolate this as a “black thing”).
I know several officers of varying capacities through work. Not a single one of them has said they don’t look at different looking people differently. 2 men in suits, 1 black/1 white, alleged criminal activity isn’t directed to 1. That’s because their perceived risk group for concern is the minority. Not someone who has everything they need already.
It’s sickening, but it’s true as hell.

Dude, you’re showing your ignorance. How did China shut down the world? To service who? Remember the facts my friend, not your internal political prejudices.

Yeah, my ideologies haven’t changed because of 2 weeks of justified social unrest. For those with weaker mental construction, maybe it has.

I can’t tell if you’re joking or not. That would be the most massive conspiracy ever including the Mongol Empire.
The answer is NO and you’re polluting the morons that are prone to believe this crap

Do you think the people who are saying black lives matter is unpatriotic want us giving money to other countries?
You’re talking about the same people. Find someone who hides behind “Patriot” that agrees with giving global aid.....I’ll wait here

Pepperidge Farm Remembers
EDIT: And not only that, we embarrassed most of our competition. Huge scores, little positive to take away from it in their perspective, and setting records the whoooooole ride.

re: Defund the police?

The reality is, there are countries, (see England) who don’t even arm their police officers with weapons other than batons and flashlights.
They make up for that lack of physical control over a suspect with advanced monitoring equipment on every restaurant, store front, public space, etc. such that, even if cops aren’t even in the city, the evidence is still gathered and criminals are less likely to commit crimes (theoretically) because there’s a greater chance of being caught.
Problem is, as Benjamin Franklin said (paraphrasing), “those who give up their freedom for security deserve neither.”
Answer is you’re under surveillance constantly, so crime plunges. There aren’t weapons to fight your weapons, so less violent crime in this construct. Not saying I support it, but there are work arounds being used in different criminal justice systems around the world.

Would you stand up for any entity that treated you as a 2nd class citizen?
There are favored demographics in our society, no doubt. People are free to express their dissatisfaction in that without being unPatriotic.
It’s asinine to say Patriotism and Human Rights are mutually exclusive. If that’s what someone wants, then we hear about it from that old man that was fighting me to get off his lawn in this thread. He’s voting for Patriotism over human rights. That vote isn’t on the ballot....

You need to learn “words”. Hard to respect someone’s decision when they don’t even know what they’re saying.
If I said this issue was a whole floppy tree top, you wouldn’t understand and listen to my opinion because I sound like a moron. Quit arguing about floppy tree tops feller

No harm in being a Patriot, but it doesn’t mean you’ are supposed to only uphold those standards for certain people you agree with.
And please old man, I’m racist on “color, age, and culture.” Which one of those is a race you moron??? You think different colored people are different?
Did you mean to say “prejudiced”? If so, you may want to insert that word into the rest of your prior posts since it defines you so directly. ”GET OFF MY LAWN!!!”-you

Do you remember how the country was founded? What the purpose of the American Revolution was? “Don’t tread on me.” We revolted against England because they weren’t considering our independent human rights. If Patriotism isn’t servicing social injustices, it’s only patriotism in name. You are a “Patriot” because you can be. White, male, probably in 40s-60s, and hasn’t dealt with any stigma in your entire life. Naturally, what do you care? I’m from a more progressive generation that values our morals. Sorry, not sorry.

You stated what he said in the negative....it’s ok to think kneeling at the flag is disrespectful to the flag. It’s also ok to think it’s not disrespectful to make a peaceful non-violent expression of dissatisfaction with the social norms and injustice being JUSTIFIED by asserting patriotism. That’s conflation.
Brees caught a bad backlash that wasn’t necessary. I don’t disagree that there are people who in the name of defeating social injustice are supporting ignorance and incompetence by calling out an athlete for saying something that doesn’t hurt their cause.
But patriotism and human rights are by design intended to be separate. It’s the job of the people to make sure that human rights aren’t violated in the name of patriotism. If human rights are being violated in the name of the country, that demands something to affect change.

Maybe wrong board?
I have a military family that has served in WWI, WWII, Vietnam, Gulf War, and I still care about social injustices without waiving my support for the military or patriotism.
You’re conflating 2 issues that aren’t even really adjacent.

According to Moffitt, Kary Vincent is the “most explosive player” on the team. Makes sense given he’s also a track athlete. Everyone has seen that in live action on the field. Pretty sweet
