Amen to that rosiebean...
It's quickly forgotten how different the NW or any part of the country is from the south. I've lived all over and can personally attest to the difference in the NW. Being originally from Cajun country, I can tell you... it's a night and day difference. I've been thinking this for weeks. It definitely has to have a factor.

Some of y'all need to calm down. He's 16/17 and 6'4". I remember being 6'3" at that age and prolly weighed 165 pounds. He hasn't had time to even "fill out" his frame let alone bulk up. Tall people know what I'm talking about. He's naturally long and lean. He's not malnurished or anything. After a redshirt year he'll be up to about 200 pounds which will be right on pace.

re: Rooney Rule

Mike Tomlin of the Steelers was interviewed and hired due to the Rooney Rule. Sure, a good majority of the time the rule wastes both parties time but sometimes it opens up the eyes of the employer. That's all it's meant to do. Steelers' ownership has since stated that they would have never interviewed Tomlin had it not been for the rule as well.
Sometimes if you flip Miles' sentences around (invert the order of sentences) he makes sense. I think he's a bit dyslexic.

Try it out. Read the second sentence, then the first. Then it makes sense. It works with other things he says too.

Tomlin is the only one I can think of. I heard the local Pittsburgh announcers say one time that had it not been for the Rooney rule ownership would have never given him an interview. They said, if I remember correctly, he was the first interview because of the rule in place. And after they interviewed him, although they still interviewed the other candidates, they knew they were going to hire Tomlin. He impressed them that much. Again, just what the local Pittsburgh announcers said a couple years ago.

I watched the game with a few people who have no affiliation whatsoever to LSU and four out of four of them said the new unis were tougher looking and they should permanently change. We all thought they looked like gladiators with those helmets. However, the "L" should be changed to "LSU" if it's kept and the purple stripes on the shoulders/sleeves should be more pronounced.
Being an "HEBERT" myself I cannot believe on a Louisiana message board it was even misspelled. I live in New Mexico and I spend every damn day of my life spelling and pronouncing my coon arse name to these peeps. I do see you're in Jacksonville but still bro... WTF. Learn the Cajun names of your team!
That's exactly what I'm saying. However I have to disagree with you. After this blunder, I think Miles will go for someone that costs over $500k and can "do it all." I don't think Miles is as prideful as people think. He really does do a good job of recognizing his ineptitude, stepping back, and allowing his staff (in various capacities) handle game preparation and management. Am I giving him too much credit?
And basically pull all offensive responsibility and game management away from LM? Miles will be back, and Crowton gone... The reality is Miles has always done a good job of recognizing his shortcomings and hiring people to make up for his small skillset. Hence the comparisons that LM runs his team like a CEO and refrains from micromanaging. What OCs across the country, if any, could sit on the sidelines and control the entire offensive handling and management? I'll hang up and listen.
:geauxtigers:
I've always liked Miles because I felt he did a great job of delegating responsibility. He always recognized his faults well and had his staff make up for it. But, game management he has to control and he has proven time and time again, for years, he cannot. Thus, he must go. The sooner the better. And if these "Positigers" keep an unbeat outlook and keep supporting LM then they will ensure LM stays for at least a couple more years thus tearing the program's recent success apart. Get rid of him now.

I don't even think Les Miles would score triple digits on an IQ test.
Let me ask Y'all Tiger fans this... Look at today's Top 25 poll (take any poll), do you think any one of those teams would take Les Miles as their coach right now? An honest question. In my opinion, not a one of them would. If you'll admit this, doesn't that say something?

Amazing. Ya know... I was watching that game here in Albuquerque yesterday afternoon. Cooking up some boudin and jambalaya for my New Mexican friends and everyone of them is unbiased. (Even though they loved the food) Yet everyone of them, women included knew the FG team was supposed to run out on the field and kick that. Whenever you've got four women who rarely watch football screaming for a team they don't even care about you know something's amiss. LSU needs to fire Miles this week. This just made the program look so damn stupid. How could any recruit feel confident in being coached by Les Miles. GEAUX AWAY LES MILES!!!

JPH is right on this one. The closer to the poles you get the shorter the days are as compared to the equator where the days are almost exactly 12 on and 12 off.
This is huge! In my opinion, getting recruits this early is a tremendous help. These kids are prolly going around garnering all kinds of positive attention about LSU. Excitement and positivity breeds excitement and positivity. Nice pulls for LSU!

<a crappy American beer is popped open>

Cheers!!! ...any questions?

(were you looking for an excuse or really just curious?)

I'm out here in Albuquerque and I'll tell ya in the past five to ten years LSU has started making a name for itself. Before the last two NC's not many people had heard, or knew of, LSU. Unless we're talking about the most ardent of college football fans. Now, even so/so college football fans know about LSU. And being that I'm here in the desert, that's a good thing. This is great news for recruiting and such. P.S... Quite a lot of us New Mexicans are from CA and the LA area specifically. They come here in droves trying to escape the nightmare of urban sprawl they created.

re: Is ESPN360 Free?

Posted by WitnessLSU on 8/29/09 at 1:22 pm to
I watch all the Tiger games (as long as the Lobos aren't playing) on Justin.tv and ESPN360. Well, those that aren't on CBS. I don't have any cable whatsoever and I've found being in New Mexico the internet is best. Quite often the reception isn't as good though. However, ESPN360 is incredibly clear for a live feed.
I know for a fact Louisiana is not a "blood red state." Look at the polls from the past couple decades if you think I'm wrong. I have several friends and family from Lake Charles to Baton Rouge. I would say it's about split, just like the polls show true for Louisiana. Louisiana is one of the more evenly balanced southern states. Other than Fl.

But no, to answer your question I have not been to a game yet in Tiger Stadium. I might go to grad school out there and the football program actually weighs into that. haha.

I see what you're saying about opposing fans, etc. and that makes sense. The point I was trying to stress was that allowing alcohol served and stricly limiting the amount and situations when it's served is very possible.

How about this... Why not allow every legal adult to have 2 beers throughout the game. They can get their hand stamped. One stamp on each hand. If someone wants to go through the trouble of washing it off and going back let them. They obviously need it that bad. If this were implemented what would happen. First, you may be less likely to sneak in a flask of hard liquor which is certainly going to effect you more than 2 beers. Second, you're generating loads of revenue. I'm not gonna start crunching rudimentary numbers here but it's a certainty. Third, The fans tenacity and loudness wouldn't die out. My cousins have told me that the reason why the volume dies off at times is because everyone is exhausted and messed up from tailgating all weekend. So, consuming just one or two beers during the game would help prevent that and keep it loud. Fourth, it would send a message to visiting tourists about Louisiana culture and liberties. But that's only to people like myself who listen to Ron Paul and such. However, in my opinion that's one of the coolest and most righteous things about LA. The right to live your life the way you want to live it.

Those reasons are why I say allow it, but only allow a couple per person. Stop sales after the third quarter. Isn't that reasonable? :usa:
Not at all Rummel. It surprises me you would say that actually. Louisiana is known across the country as being unique in that it tends to pride itself a little more on facilitating civil liberties. Most states have lossed that. It's with everything in society just about. It's been a gradual change from how it was in the 80's. And from what I've read it goes way further back. But, as you said, I'm young.

I do see the point you're trying to make. My drinking habits whilst attending games at ages 18,19,20, versus 24,25,26 and even nowadays (i turn 30 on the 7th. damnit) have changed greatly. But, thinking back to when i was 18... I was still getting drunk like everyone and most of us just wanted to have a beer to nurse to keep our drunkeness throughout the game. Also, it's hard to sneak stuff into a Lobo game. They pat you down, and search your chica's purse. I don't know how they do it in my home state of louisiana 'cause I've been out here far too long but I'm assuming they don't search through your lady's bag. Can anyone comment on this?

In regards to my "pigs" comment. Well, I'd say 9 out of 10 interactions with cops in APD (Albuquerque Police Department) are disgusting. 9 out of 10 of our piggies are corrupt, disrespectful, abusive (both physically and mentally), and arrogant. I kind of assumed that was most everywhere. Although, I have problems related to the cops out here as well being from Louisiana. The culture here is crazy different. However, I have noticed that Southern cops tend to be easier to get along with. From my limited experiences with them if you initially show them respect they will be very respectful. Here, the cops, and the population in general, think you are up to something or devious if you show someone respect right away. As I said the culture is different.
I go to UNM and they don't allow it whatsoever. We even have pigs patrol the tailgating section to pop underagers before, during, and after the game. Not only that, you are NOT allowed to leave for any reason at halftime. If you do, you have to buy a new ticket. All this BS keeps student attendance waaaay down. I have so many friends who are true football and lobo fans but will leave after the game starts to go to local house parties/bars to continue expressing their American given right to consume copious amounts of liquor. And for what it's worth, I'm 29 and all my friends are my age. Yet, we even leave for many games. Plus, we're the freaking Lobos so we are usually .500 at best. But I guarantee if I could watch a 42-35 Mountain West shootout while nursing a beer I would stay for sure.

What I do know is that every day we are having our inherently granted liberties stripped to "protect" other "free" Americans from being offended.

There are so many ways to regulate the sale of alcohol. Carding people at entrance if they think they are going to drink, stamping people for every beer served, or if someone is too wasted don't let them enter at all.

The ironic thing here is that most students are already liquored up to their satisfaction on entrance and probably only want two or three beers per game to act as a chaser for their flask or just keep their buzz "just right."

Ok, I'm done. Thanks for listening. Oh and for what it's worth... I've converted two new sexy female LSU fans in the last year alone! haha. That's doing your part.

What you don't seem to understand tiger prowl and what many people not affiliated with Louisiana do not grasp as well is that Louisiana prides itself on practicing civil liberties. Sometimes it's charming and respectful but often it's ugly, coarse, offensive, and down right disrespectful. Louisiana is one of the last few states in the union that openly flaunts this. In fact, they parade it. Come on down to Mardi Gras and WITNESS it for yourself. When's the last time you've been down to Mobile, Alabama's Mardia Gras? After all,... they were the first right? You see most states across this land would make a remark like you made and not even realize the implications of what they just said. Well,.... welcome to how things roll around here. Be yourself... Go offend with respect... Can't wait to play ya Auburn...

god damn i'm such a noob... i'm still palying with these emo signs... perhaps the pimpness....
