Where were all these Miles is Great posters in '08-'09 and '10? He is STILL the same coach, nothings changed.

Actually a lot has changed. In those previous years LSU had a lot of talent but was playing awful football. So it is normal in any sport when the team is not living up to its potential you critique the coaching. And when a team is playing real well a coach gets all the credit as Miles is getting now. This is normal.

Thank Crowton.

Krags will get it fixed.

We will see. It will be a totally different story when the games count. Hopefully Lee can overcome what seems to be happy feet during games where he knows he will be hit.

It was just a bad decision, like Road said, he just needs to throw it away. But as usual people are going to overreact

But that has been his problem his entire career. It is not encouraging that as a Senior we see the same thing so early in the year.

The worest that could happen is JL gets hurt again and now our Qbs are both runners, and we're down a WR.

JL is a better passer than Jefferson, but that is not saying much at all. That is like saying a score of 40 on a test is better than a 30.

Do you think Miles would have played Richardson in front of Scott? I do not! :banghead:

You are being much to generous to Miles. Not only would he had not played Richardson before Scott, he wouldn't have played him before Keiland Williams, Richard Murphy, or Ridley. Most likely he would have tried to redshirt Richardson.
10-2 is good if you have a 10-2 or worst team. I think the problem most have with Miles is that LSU could be a 12-0 team or an 11-1 team playing for the national championships. When you look at the way LSU has played, even though the record is good, you have to know they should be much better. There are just some basic problems that I think speak to coaching problems. For example:

Russell Shephard
1. Everybody knew Shephard should have been getting more playing time. It seems like the LSU coach staff were the last ones to realize it. It wasn't even the LSU fans, but national figures such as Tim Brando and Lou Holtz could see.
2. The excuse is the Russell Shephard doesnt' know the plays. How in the world do you let someone of Shephard's talent enroll in school since January and not know the plays???
3. The lack of preparation given to Shephard. Shephard should have been getting quality touches much earlier in the season when LSU was playing some of the weaker teams on their schedule. Even at this late point in the season when LSU was playing Tulane he should have been grooming Shephard by giving him more touches.

I think Shephard would have seen substantial more playing time with any other college program in the nation, that includes Florida and Alabama. I focused a bit on Shephard but there have been numerous things such as these that give me pause about Miles even though LSU may finish 10-2, because I believe they are really a 12-0 or 11-1 team.

Yes, but last year was invested in Lee. For all we know he could be all world this year. Also, they did not coddle Lee. They forced him to make big time throws and far more often than not he did.

I just don't get it. As bad as Lee played last year people are still calling for him to play more. Yeah, Lee made big time throws, for the other team. Lee had all last year to show his stuff. We must now give Jefferson the same opportunity. I think more of the problem lies with coaching instead of Jefferson.

So that is the standard now for LSU quarterbacks? Just be better than Jarett Lee was in '08? Call me crazy, but I think we can do better than that.

Well, if the standard is being better than Jarrett Lee than we could even start Shepherd You can't do much worse as QB than what he did. JJ is playing fine at this point. Of course we expect him to improve, but I'm very satisfied with his play so far.
