I do too. Chavis will have lb's that can cover in the flat. dont be suprised if 1 certan saftey turns into a linebacker this next season keeps him from having to use the nickle package in alot of situations.
smallish, very fast lb's is what chavis likes in his scheme. with big strong front four.

i dont like being called dumb as dirt. i see so many post from people who will complain about who ever they hire( short of nick saban or parcells) I have seen what happens when you drive a position coach down a dc's throat and force his hand. even the best of coaches, if they do not gel, will make a defense under acheive.......sorry for the rudeness

Well, for starters i played college ball at a small school.....and I AM A DC AT A SMALL HIGH SCHOOL.....i do know a bit about coaching ...DO YOU????
I agree. Brooks and chavis have produced some really quality players together. I think chavis will do much better at LSU with the staff he is comfortable with. chavis has alot to prove.....he wants to show he can win outside of tennesse. He knows football......let him be in the decesion process.

Since "O" has left usc they have not fallen off in talent, in-fact they may have gotten better in defense. while at ole miss, he didnt take any great players from lsu, and while at the saints, the defensive line showed no improvement( may have gotten worse). so, i say not hiring him is a true blessing....WE DONT NEED SOMEONE WHO DOES NOT WANT TO BE HERE!!!...and it would have caused conflicts in the defense. :geauxtigers:
