Definitely not a new thing. My boss had one removed when he was 17 and he is in his early 50's now.

My 16 y/o son just had this surgery 7 weeks ago. This was done after his first surgery in April was unsuccessful. As of last week he is able to resume most activities. He does have a big scar now (30 stitches) but it is healing nicely.

Was at the Hard Rock last Saturday and LSU game was on all over the casino.
