Facts on Ely's performance last night:

Plant opened the game with an 80-yard screen pass touchdown from Phillip Ely to Antonio Crawford. That's about the only thing that went right for the Panthers. A couple series later, Ely was sacked and fumbled, which Manatee recovered, and he strained his right ankle, forcing him to the sideline for most of the first half.

After Plant's opening touchdown, Manatee scored four consecutive touchdowns to take a 28-10 lead just before the end of the first half.

Ely returned in the second half but couldn't get things clicking with the offense. He finished the night 6-of-21 for 153 yards and one touchdown. The offense finished the night by turning the ball over on downs their final four possessions.

One nice screen pass and not too much other than that.

After watching Kenny Hilliard over the past three years, I can assure you that his speed is certainly deceiving-Ask the Parkview players how quick Hilliard is. Another interesting note about Kenny is the fact that he reminds me of Hester when he was at Evangel-Kenny was the starting punter, starting running back, played linebacker from time to time, and against Parkview caught a TD pass, rushed for a TD, punted for a 40+ yd average, and had two great 20-30 yd. passes that were dropped.

I cannot wait to have him in P&G and I think it is a testament to the talent in LA for 2011 to have Kenny as the 5th ranked player. Geaux Tigers.
For whomever requested stats:

Kenny ran the ball 278 times for 2,512 yards and 32 touchdowns and had 17 catches for 332 yards and 4TDs this season

Career-wise he has 826 carries for 6,714 yards and 82 touchdownsneeds 1,335 yards to break the State career mark.

Church Street had a good New Year's Eve atmosphere in 2005.

Thanks, I appreciate it.
It seems that Tyke Tolbert's name came up when trying to replace Monken. He was dedicated to being an NFL coach at the time, but do you happen to think he would make the change now?

391,

As a UT fan, how do you feel FW is as a college Coach/Recruiter? I watched him nearly coach a New Orleans public high school to a 4A State Championship against JT Curtis so I am aware of his abilities High School wise. Whats your feel and is it a significant loss to the UT Staff?

Who's Gonna Fill Their Shoes?

For the three coaching spots vacant at this point, my pipe dream would go as follows:

OC-Danny Langsdorf (Oregon State)/Steve Kragthorpe (Louisville)
RB-Randy Jordan (Texas A&M)*recruits NELA/NW TX
WR-Tyke Tolbert (Buffalo Bills)/Rob Ianello (Notre Dame)

Any thoughts?

One name to keep in mind is Randy Jordan at A&M. He is currently recruiting the Shreveport area-Jarrett Fobbs and also recruits NE Texas. Just a name to keep in mind.
