The post didn't say Garrett is afraid, it said Gary Crowton believes Garrett needs more time.
I don't post often, just read and laugh, usually. But come on people! Seriously?
You people have no idea what it takes to coach an elite SEC nationally recognized team (I don't either) and yet you want to question whether or not, and doubt our coaches, that a TRUE FRESHMAN, who should have been redshirted, who didn't NOT HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY to learn an expansive and intricate playbook, learn progressions, learn checks, etc., should have been starting? HE DID NOT HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY to run 7 on 7 drills nor run with the ones OR twos, how was he supposed to learn what other QBs take quite a while to learn?
There's a reason Jefferson was not planned on. And it's not because the coaches are idiots.
He was being redshirted. He was not supposed to be used this year. YOU CAN'T GET ALL 120 PLAYERS GAME READY. Heck, even Jarrett Lee wasn't supposed to see the field for another 2 years!
Come on! JJ turned out to be a gamer with a lot of upside! He's OBVIOUSLY STILL RAW. He's also going to be better than Lee or Hatch but remember... it was Hatch who was supposed to the the QB this year with Lee spelling him. The coaches knew Lee couldn't do it all. The coaches had no choice.

urb and it's not close.
TT may have been at it longer but UM is in a class all by himself. NO ONE has EVER been like him.

I think Daniels said, "I play for the name on the side of my helmet not for the name on the back of my jersey". Same difference, though. GREAT QUOTE! I've used it with kids.
Do you know Tyler Lafauci? His little brother and I played football in Metarie/Kenner at Westgate.
