Dellenger tweeted that LSU is picking up Lane and his family tomorrow to bring them to Baton Rouge, yet we still have people on this board playing the role of chicken little?

Do they think we're flying a guy who's gonna coach Ole Miss next year for our health? Use your heads
quote:

Wow I'm sure that kind of answer would really help make the hiring decision

And apparently you would rather LSU write the biggest check to the biggest name?

Not entirely sure though because you criticized an alternative plan without giving an idea of your own. Pretty convenient when trying to avoid criticism of your own
Totally agree. Gone are the days when we used to ask coaching candidates for a “body of work” (colloquial term used in the business based on some convos I’ve had with insiders that I won’t name).

Remember when we had a REAL AD like Joe Alleva who had a REAL candidate like Ed Orgeron submit binders worth of information and research relating to his plan for the program? That ended with us fielding the greatest team ever. Not a coincidence, baws

Now it’s just throwing money at the flashiest names. Not even an art anymore. This University and fanbase deserve better
I created a much funnier thread about this topic yesterday, Pete, and Chicken sent it to the bottom of the Gulf of America. Very disappointed to see troll jobs with effort put into them get annihilated but this drivel stay up
The reason we never announced Saban after the bama game is because Sexton asked us to delay so that he could put on the spectacle of Lane's reps flying into Baton Rouge to drive Lane's price up at either Ole Miss or Florida.

This way, Sexton wins twice. Per my sources
This is like asking ChatGPT what color is the best color. Completely useless information
How many times do we have to see the same kind of post over and over again?
"Why do LSU fans want the greatest living coach of all time who would come back and instantly receive financial backing, big-time recruits, and a vengeance to prove to people that he can win in the NIL era because he won in the other modern eras before that?"

Yeah, man. It's a mystery
Does he feel disrespected that people assume he couldn't win in the NIL era?

Does he feel slighted by the fan base he won all of those championships for because so many of them believe those titles were "built by bama" which implicitly lessens his importance?

Saban is a legacy guy sure, but he's also a respect guy? Question is, does he feel disrespected enough to prove people wrong again
If we follow up with a good AD hire, we'll look back at the melt on here and laugh.

If we whiff the hire, it could be the beginning of a rough stretch for the athletic department.

so we aren't overreacting?

But you are. Saying it's a bad look is one thing but the melt on this board over the governor's comments that do not change LSU's reality before the comments were made is silly
Perhaps Scott Woodward should be the sole donor to this hypothetical fund
quote:

yes, and I covered that as we ran horizontal RPOS with JD5

Sure, but to imply that RPOs never allow for a QB run option is a bit misleading no? Denbrock didn't invent the RPO triple option, other teams use them as well. As a Doctor, I try not to mislead people publicly as that would be a violation of HIPAA
quote:

no, the options in a RPO is handoff or pass

Excuse me, Mr. Fat, but there are triple option RPOs where QB runs are an option
quote:

Hate to tell you people, but conspiracy says that Ole Miss was going to win this game, although it was going to be a close game. That is the new SEC model or games are one score going into the fourth quarter and the better team wins generally

As a doctor, I feel it's within my right to tell everyone that this poster may be suffering from fatigue or heatstroke because this isn't coherent English
Excited to play UGA next season. Last time we played "between the bushes" we lost a thriller against Matthew Stafford and the Bulldogs in 2012. Huge game from Mettenberger, Jarvis, Odell, and co. though. Should be a lively atmosphere
quote:

Am I missing some sarcasm or something? We definitely started 1-0 in both those seasons.

0 sarcasm. I'm a medical doctor, so being sarcastic on public forums would actually violate HIPAA. All I'm trying to say is that OP is actually looking at this season with the right context. Plenty of great teams start 0-1!
OP is absolutely correct to point this out, and history shows that losing the opener would still put us in elite company.

I’m old enough to remember the 2003 and 2007 national championship seasons, both of which we started 0-1. To this day, that ’07 team is still the only team to lose two games (both in triple OT) and win a championship in the modern era.

Our only undefeated championship team is the 2019 team, so Tiger fans would be wise to recalibrate their expectations on what a winner looks like in the aftermath of a potential loss to Clemson.
