re: Is Brunson better than Luka?
Posted by RunningHog on 8/19/26 at 8:37 am to JamalMurry27
I'd take Brunson, because he's got the ability to drive a team to a title. As someone else said, he's got a lot more dawg in him. Tougher player.

Arkansas track & field.
John McDonnell was the Nick Saban of college T&F, but he did it for 30 years. He’s long gone but they keep on trucking.
But Alabama is working hard to change this. They've won SEC two mens cross country titles in the past five years as well as two women's titles. Largely with Kenyan runners, but Arkansas is also on the Kenyan train. We're still dominant in T&F, but Georgia's women's team is on the rise.

Great news in my book. We're a national power under his watch.

These coaches changed the landscape and were legendary in their sport.
There were some schools that emphasized track & field in the old days. Villanova, Oregon. LSU. Even UTEP in cross country. But Arkansas piling up national and conference titles made people change their programs. Alabama didn't have much of a distance program until Coach Mac arrived and made AD's take notice. Now Oklahoma and Alabama are loading up with Kenyans.

Clemson is a better academic school than SC but the women at SC are much more attractive. Clemson at #4 is insane.
My daughter earned her PhD at South Carolina. I was actually more impressed with their faculty than Clemson's. The campus is blessed with beautiful women!

A history lesson on OU sports. “ We cheated our arses off to prominence, now we are successful built on that cheating foundation” ONLY way you get recruits to voluntarily live in Norman for 4 years of their life. One of the many universities that invented paying players before paying players was legal. The denial is real.
Read this book and educate yourself.

And he didn't win a national championship, or even a sec championship! So why should he get a statue, or is it just another ole piss claim to greatness without actually producing anything to show for it, so they have to manufacturer something? Like the 2003 co west sec championship banner.
He is, by far, their greatest legend and the greatest ambassador for that university. Great human being. Well deserved.

What a stupid thing to say. My daughter ran track and cross country at Arkansas. Two sports have actually performed and brought championships to Arkansas. You should be ashamed.

Alongside hockey, it is far from a "safe alternative" if head injury prevention is the primary concern.
Your chances of having severe brain injury are exponentially less. In soccer, kids aren't allowed to head the ball until after age 10 and there are practice restrictions to age 14 in order to mitigate risk. There are approximately 30 headers in a game for both teams. In football, a player typically experiences physical contact on nearly every play they are on the field—averaging roughly 60 to 80 physical collisions or blocks per game for high-contact positions like linemen and linebackers.
It's not comparable.

Back in the day, there was a group called Da Hui, a surf gang that would keep non-hawaiians off the best surf spots. They were super violent.

re: Laptop for college freshman- Macbook?

For a first year student, I'd get a Mac. They're solid machines with better engineering. Several of our engineers, including a couple of Cisco CCIE's, all use Macs.

My daughter, an athlete, believes the opposite. She believes allowing trans athletes to compete against women threatens women's athletics.
