re: Were the founders full of shite?

Read about the debates that the founders had before the final draft(s) were signed. You may be surprised to learn that 11 of the 13 colonies were opposed to slavery in any form, but Georgia and South Carolina refuse to comply.

Doesn’t seem very Christian to me.
Seems to me you don’t understand what it means to be Christian.

My grandfather (L.C. Scott) was on Tinian Island as well. My uncle (J.S. Gray) was captured by the Japanese in the Philippines, survived the Bataan Death March, camps O’Donnell & Cabanatuan, the Hell Ships, and slave labor in Japan. Were some tough old GOATS.

We all do, though most of us seldom use it - it’s called The Sword of The Spirit, the Word of God.

re: Why aren’t churches taxed?
Posted by KramerPlayer on 5/23/25 at 1:22 pm to UFFan
To control them. As long as the church doesn’t take an official political position and preach it to their members, it enjoys tax free status.
However, it’s 501C3 is jeopardized if the pastor and/or church body endorses or exercises political views or beliefs in an official capacity. This allows the government to control and censor the church, and how it operates. But they (the government) only enforces their powers of revocation on certain select groups.

There’s another current LSU student who won the American Idol Golden Ticket a few years ago, Bryce McGlothin. He’s still in school and worked at Fred’s at one time.

If you really think about it, you’ll have to agree that for anything to exist it must be one of three things:
1) Eternal
2) Self-Created, or
3) Created by Something that is Eternal

Lied to, perhaps. But one thing’s for certain, later generations refused to take a hard stand on the side of objective morality, and now we find ourselves in one hell of a mess.
When the fate of the world hung in the balance, the “Greatest Generation” answered the call without reservation, and gave their all to stand against the evils of that day. Unfortunately very few have been willing to do the same since.
“Hard times create strong men, strong men create good times. Good times create weak men, weak men create hard times.”
In the name of personal gain, pleasure, and comfort, men have remained silent in the face of tyrannical lunacy, perversion, and deception - producing horrendous results in their own lives, homes, communities, and country.
We all knew better than to go down the road that we now find ourselves on, and we did it anyway. That makes this whole situation even more absurd and revolting. It is all unnecessary and self inflicted.
The real change and realization of improvement starts at home, with you! You must examine your shortcomings and work to better yourself and that will eventually spill over into every other aspect of your life. That’s how we fix this, working together to build a better future for ourselves and our families.
Every cemetery you visit or drive by is filled with “tough” guys. The world doesn’t need anymore “tough” guys, it needs STRONG MEN who are willing to stand in the face of adversity, make sacrifices, and do the right thing. Especially when that adversity is our own egos and prejudices!
“Make sure YOU’RE right, and go ahead,” Davey Crockett.
So examine yourself and your motives today - be a man by being strong and doing the right thing!

For anything inside space, time, and matter to exist it must be one of three things:
1) Eternal
2) Self-Created, or
3) Created by something that is eternal
Nothing that exists (even time) is eternal, there is an originating event of some sort - ie the Big Bang.
Nothing is entirely self-created - all existence depends in some way on an external source.
So then, for anything to exist - even you and I - we must recognize we were created by something that is eternal, which is God.
This is not some sort of faith-based teaching or religious viewpoint but a basic fact.
