Dr. Ross Cockrell at Baton Rouge Clinic did mine. No complications and I would highly recommend. And yes that is his real name…born to be a urologist

I've been told it is the same owners, so probably so.
Have y'all seen this story on Jim Rutledge and him possibly being pushed out of Four Roses? If it is true it is a disgrace. That man is a legend

Hokus Pokus in Prairieville or The Beverage Store on Florida.
My wife and I went about a week ago on our way through town. Yes the portions are enormous. If it is like the other one I think it will do ok, as many stated it is very similar to several other BR restaurants but I think it will make it.
I know that is has been discussed on her before but which do y'all prefer; Old Forester 1870 or 1897? I think I am going to buy one and wanted to ask the baws first!

Giving my bullet stones a whirl with Barterhouse
Yeah, I think the stones do ok but only knock down the temperature a bit. I just thought the bullet "stones" were a neat gift idea.
Sorry the links didn't hyperlink, but I think everyone can copy and paste if they want to see them. The Bullets are:
Description:

"These .454 solid surgical stainless steel replica rimmed cartridge, whisky (or whiskey) stones are precision manufactured in house and contain the thermal mass to drop a finger of whiskey to proper drinking temperature without dilution or coloring the taste of your bourbon, scotch, whiskey or other libation."

Pack of 4 or a full cylinder of 6!

Head stamped "AKLYS .454" ,DO NOT use as a snap cap ,it will destroy your firing pin"

The shot glass:
Description:

Engineered for the perfect pour! Precision CNC machined out of defense grade aluminum alloy and hard coat anodized for durability and a lifetime of use. Available in OD green, Aklys Blue, and the covert HDPE Black for low heat signature!

Keep them in the freezer for instantly chilled shots!
Got a pretty cool/unique gift today, thought the baws would be intrigued. Linked the website below for further info:

If any of you know where there is chipotle tabasco, I'd appreciate the heads up. I am sure they have it at a lot of AG stores but i haven't looked yet. I haven't been able to find it at Albertson's, Target or Wal-mart.
Has anyone else had trouble finding chipotle tabasco lately?
BRBS I am going to try to make it tonight. I actually came last time but was by myself and walked in, then chicken out and left. Haha Sad but true
I know it was just a great marketing scheme but it has been fun searching
I have a question that I know one of you baws will be able to answer for me. I (and my wife) are happy to say that last week I was able to procure my last letter to complete my Blanton's tops collection. I have heard rumors that back in the day you could send in your tops and they would send you a special bottle or something? Any truth to that? All I have seen so far is some top holders for sale on tigerimports.net that aren't bad and Blanton's website that I don't really care for. Really most curious about this mythical thing if you sent in your tops.

Thanks No8Easy2! Thanks to this board for great suggestions since its inception!

cdro was that you at Perkins yesterday?

Stopped by Calandro's yesterday to pick up some andouille sausage and this guy jumped in my cart. Not a bad impulse buy!
I am planning on making it tonight but might be solo. I figure making friends among multiple bourbon drinkers won't be too hard!

Crazy how many of us have gotten our hands on this lately! I was very happy with the 130 proof. Hoping to be able to make it to Lock and Key on Thursday to meet some of y'all!

Really doesn't need it but I just put it in to cool it down for a second.
In honor of my new bottle, I finally poured the last of my opened bottle.

Yeah, LA 1 the time I tried it, it was almost not drinkable. I really wanted to like it, but I wish them the best moving forward. With that said, here is the obligatory pic:

LSUTCC, which person did you talk to and did he let you buy any of the good stuff

LSUTCC, my vote would be Forged Oak. I think lost prophet was overpriced and not all that spectacular. There just wasn't much happening in my opinion. Barterhouse and Rhetoric still battle for the top orphan for me. But Forged Oak is tasty for its price point (when compared to the others, since it's still pricey for a regular drinker).

Thank you sir!
