re: What’s Kiffin’s buyout?
Posted by 6columns on 11/7/26 at 6:22 pm to TiptonInSC
Did you hear that LSU fan screaming "f you, Lane!" after they were down by 18?
Night couldn't stop Kiffin from stupidly going for it on 4th and 10 from his own 20 down by 11 with 9 minutes left. Same ol' Kiffin.
No change in the Constitution would be necessary. The Electoral College would remain. Only how votes would be allotted would change. Check out these 1st 4 paragraphs of a NYT explainer about the so-called compact.
Democrats’ midterm victories may raise the chances that enough states sign onto a mechanism that, in theory, could elect the next president effectively by popular vote instead of through the typical rules of the Electoral College.
The party’s surge in Tuesday’s elections included gaining a hold on the governor’s office and both statehouse chambers in at least four states, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. Those states could join an agreement called the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact, which promises that participants would give all their electoral votes to the presidential ticket that wins the national popular vote.
But the agreement, which has been more popular among Democrats, takes effect only once signed by states representing a majority of the Electoral College, or at least 270 electoral votes, the amount needed to win the presidency. Eighteen states and the District of Columbia have adopted the compact so far, representing 222 electoral votes.
If all four of the states that just won total Democratic control were to join the agreement, it would tip the group over the 270-vote threshold. Arizona, which is allotted 11 electoral votes, was also projected to have a blue trifecta, though not all of its races had been called by Thursday evening.

I don't know. Ole Miss seems to play pretty well in those powder blues. And real men wear whatever they want.
No SEC football game should ever be played indoors.
re: Bijan Robinson calls out a clear culture problem that's infecting the Texas Longhorns

Well, there appears to be a major culture problem at Texas A&M as well. All that money spent on the rosters and coaches, and for what?
Arch just doesn't make decisions quickly enough and therefore holds the ball too long. And after that, bad things happen. Quarterbacks can have all the physical tools in the world, but if they don't have the mental part down, they are going to fail.
re: Is it odd that Sumrall was hanging out in New Orleans late last night?

What's wrong with hanging out late at night in that party town? Sounds like a regular guy.
re: Calling My Shot: Florida Will Beat Texas

I'm afraid you'll be ordering double shots by halftime. I hope you're right, but the last 2 weeks have been pretty ugly. And the Texas D should have a field day.

For OU, yeah. We shall see about the other competition.
And Arch is still doing stupid stuff. You'd think by now....

Gunner wasn't all that great against OU. 14-25 for 171 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT.
OU basically gave away the game with 4 TOs, 3 by Mateer. Their D was good, allowing just over 300 yards total.
UGA had just 12 1st downs and was 3-12 on 3rd down.

You've gone from Jimbo to Jumbo.
Kiffin has been a go for the jugular coach in his career. Why change stripes now? I'll bet he doesn't punt next time he's in that spot.
Where's Elko?

He was the hottest coach in the SEC last year until they played Texas and Miami. Now he's just the fattest coach with the fattest payroll sunken to calling an angry fan board a cesspool.

I don't see it as a snub at all. ABC game at 2:30 was always going to be Bama-Tenner. And who wants to play at 11? And the night game is not even an SEC game. It's ND. SECN is fine by me.
UK on the road in Norman doesn't sound like a win. I don't see this as a letdown game at all for OU. I think it will be a confirmation game that the win over Texas wasn't a fluke, though it was to a degree. OU by 10.
I wouldn't be surprised at a shootout. Our secondary is suspect, and your tackling is suspect. We shall see.
Oh, I don't know. That game deserved a tie.

One of the stupidest plays you will ever see. Kills the clock for the Giants in lieu of attempting the GW FG in OT.

Yeah, but Russell cannot take a sack there, just one of several of his stupid plays.
Light rain forecast at game time.
