What the hell?

What's happening down there? You guys are struggling now. Was this supposed to be a down year?
Not saying the outcome would be different, but the App/LSU game would have a different feel now vs in August.
DON'T take this as smack talk at all. You guys looked like world beaters at the beginning of the year, now it's just not as sharp.
Is Miles really on the hot seat or are ranters just pissed?

They played it well against App State - much better than say, Michigan!

Just watched this youtube of the App State/LSU game. Dammmmit that was a beat down...I hate to admit it, but check the sweet pass play at 2:25...

Wow
Just checking in from App State

It looks like you guys have recovered from Gustav and all is well. We've recovered from our arse beatin' down in Baton Rouge but I found this and figured that even with the loss, this is still pretty damn funny.

Bring home that title again and we'll do our part too.

I didn't see the final. I was hoping you guys would beat them. What happened? I had heard that you should have won.
I was coming through customs this summer and Butch Davis was next to me in line talking about UNC, playing App State, playing you guys, etc.
Believe me, every loss handed to those guys tastes great and if you had beaten them it would have been special.

That's one advantage you DO have- living in the mountains breaks up bad weather.
To an extent. The trouble is that when a hurricane or remnants roll through, the mountains squeeze the rain out. Example is the 20 inches of rain that hit the NC mountains from Charley, then another 12 inches about a week later. Washed out many roads, bridges, etc.

what did you edit?
Ah nothing. Just asked you how that undefeated regular season worked out last year after the finger you gave us. But I didn't really want to post something like that. So, I removed it.

Well, good luck to y'all, it's got to be mighty scary to have a hurricane bearing down on you in the North Carolina mountains.
Sigh.
Does that mean that all LSU fans live in Baton Rouge?
What a dumbass you are.

One of my best friends here in NC is from Baton Rouge and an LSU grad - I'm coming back again this year, and next year and next year....I loved it down there.
That said, there is no way in hell it will be before October 1, ever. I'll take my 65 degree days in September in Boone, the cruise down to LSU and watch it happen full speed instead of "heading out to board up the house."

Once again, I think all of the App fans had a great time down there. I'm really sorry for the arse pounding that Gustav gave your campus and your fine town. It's beautiful there (especially the coeds...) and a shame to see that much destruction such a short time later after we left.
Wish us luck with Hannah this weekend and Ike coming in next week.

Guys,
What a great experience today. Aside from the flat out arse beatin' you handed us, it was a first class experience. I'm sure things were more than subdued due to Gustav and all the events going on around the storm, but I really enjoyed myself.
I loved the "Tiger Bait!" chant as walked by the tailgates, along with the high fives that were handed out.
Your speed on defense is amazing to watch. Armanti looked out of sorts all day. I'm sure it had plenty to do with the Tigers. Not sure about that run of dropped passes, but that had zero to do with the outcome anyway.
I saw some ranter started the "Appy won the second half" thread. Believe me, we came here to play well and to win, not outscore the second team in the second half when the game was over.
Not too sure about your QB, that may be the only weak spot. And that #32 is a "hoss" (with my best Keith Jackson voice).
Good luck the rest of the way. Can't wait to come back.

We're in the south end zone. When I get to the hotel tonight I'll post you my seat number. Stop on by, I'll by you a beer.
Heading to airport now. Hope they don't change the game on us.
Hey - let's just move it to Boone!

I didn't say everyone in Louisiana is a cajun. I just called out the cajuns!
It was a JOKE. Didn't you see the laughter icon?

I don't mind seeing a beer tossed at someone. It's possible I beered a few Georgia Southern fans back in '87 when we stopped their consecutive national title run...
That said, if one of you cajuns hits my 10 year old with a beer or a piss balloon, you'll see one 5'9" 200 pound fifth degree black belt lining up your asses up and taking them down. I don't care if I'm outnumbered 95,000 to 1. Oh yea, he's a blackbelt too so bring your little kids and he'll take care of them.
Now...aside from that, I can't wait to get down there and mingle with the best fans in the best stadium and watch my Mountaineers play the best team in the country.

We are flying out of NO at 10:45am Sunday...I think we'll be okay.
Are you on USAir back to Charlotte? If so, let's try to meet up.
My son and I arrive tomorrow around 3:30. Can't wait. Looking forward to seeing some LSU fans and crashing some tailgates.

also, to the idiot who said south carolina is hotter than baton rouge
Hey pole smoker - straight from weather.com. Let's compare average high in Columbia, SC to Bathroom Rouge, beginning 8/1 and going weekly:
Date Columbia Baton Rouge
8/1 95 92
8/8 94 92
8/15 93 92
8/22 93 91
8/29 92 91
Now, we all know that the difference between 95 and 92 is minimal, but we also all know who the idiot is now and it is LSUzealot.
No disrespect to the intelligent LSU fans, but I think I just kicked the zealot's arse. Zealot, get your pick-up off the blocks in your front yard and come get your girlfriend. She's boring me again.
Next?

Just some thoughts:
It was near 90 and humid in Michigan last year - yes, it is hot there too in the summer.
Armanti Edwards is from the low lands of South Carolina. It is hotter there than it is Baton Rouge. Columbia, SC is usually listed as one of the hottest spots in the country during the summer. And, it's just as humid.
It doesn't get very hot in Boone in the summer. At 3,333 feet, once it hits about 85, it starts to storm. That said, the indoor facility is recognized as being as good as any in the country and I bet they have climate control in there too.
All that said - depth is the issue. First team to first team LSU has the edge and probably by more than just a little. Second team to second team it starts to get out of hand.
BUT....if this game is competitive and makes it to the 4th quarter, it becomes a toss up. EVERYONE will be tired. EVERYONE will have lost a step and maybe, just maybe, we get the ball, down by less than a field goal, with about two minutes to go.
Does it happen? Probably not. But, if it does, the Michigan game will still be the biggest upset because they were ranked higher!!! :nana: :nana: :nana:
