I recently retired from govt and now doing contract work. Have $700k in 401k invested in the G Fund, which returned 4% this year. I moved it there at beginning of year and obviously lost out on market gains in a more aggressive Fund.

Any suggestions/insight on the market heading into 2024 with election issues/Fed/etc?

Thank you fellas.
Where are y’all finding best prime rib at? What price per lb?

No sir, the chamber pressure of .308 can often wreck havoc on 7.62x51 platforms.

7.62 okay in .308 not vice versa

Beautiful buck, congrats!
That was panic buying, based on cries of gun control efforts by Dems. The panic buying hit the munitions industry that at the time, was just barely keeping up with supplying the ongoing wars with OIF/OEF and civilian demand.

What we have now is a true dearth of basic components due to European NATO countries giving up their primary supplies and the US giving up large reserve supplies of munitions to the Ukraine disaster.

Also keep in mind that we supply hundreds of nation-states so the war machine keeps churning.

Good mantra is to have limited variants of weapons platforms with enough ammunition to supply your target shooting/competition/hunting needs for at least 3 years. Not always practical, but it’s what we (USA) used to base projections on for 2 theater wars…just take it as trusted info we do not practice such wisdom any longer.
Russia and China have transitioned away from 7.62x39 for some time now and both countries have rifles chambered in 5.56x45, mainly for their export market.

I have a Ruger American in 7.62x39 that is an awesome rifle along with AK variants; but I encourage folks going forward to focus on NATO calibers and don’t be swayed by new fads (6.8) until it goes DoD wide with the infrastructure to support secondary market.

Beautiful food plot
You’re on the correct path…9mm/22LR/5.56/7.62x51 and .308 is the way.
You’re correct on what you’re seeing…the problem with the future re: civilian ammo sales is that it’s like a stalled vehicle on the interstate; the whole interstate is backed up due to one vehicle slowing everything down due to the onlookers causing the traffic jams…our problem is not the current inventory, it’s the multiple vehicle pile up coming due to unending wars feeding the MIC and eating up stockpiles while the lack of components caused by logistics issues still ongoing from 2020.

Not crying sky is falling but it’s about to be a heavy downpour.
Good synopsis; he’s not agile like Wingo re: lateral/first step quickness but makes up for it with power and great grip strength. Definitely will see field quicker at NT/short yardage packages.
I work in a field involved in the military munitions sector; shortages are real and ammunition plants are either going 24/7 and/or being restarted.

The decline in just U.S. munitions inventories due to these never-ending excursions overseas has put the U.S. inventory in a bad way.

It trickles down to the civilian market as components for 155/105 mm artillery rounds puts a pinch on small-arms components and then in turn that available to civilian market.

He’s a DT / NT…just manhandles opposing OL.
This is real and NOT a marketing ploy. We drew down our arms manufacturing capacity and in turn the logistics capacity on way out of Afghanistan and now everyone and their momma is looking for components due to their sell out to supply Ukraine.

Exactly re: offer list. The only “rating” that matters is tackles, sacks and pressures. This young fella and PJ Woodland will be known names for the Tigers despite so called ratings.

Watching this guy over last couple years…sleeper on defensive line and feel like he’ll be a great force with more focus on technique - he uses his physical abilities to dominate in HS.

Thank you and Merry Christmas!
