That’s a great concept and looks like you did a fantastic job!
Years ago I did 4- 4x8 raised boxes of tomatoes, bell peppers, squash, zucchini, eggplant, and pole beans.
-First year went great with great weather. Harvest was successful on all accounts.
-Second year got these torrential down pours that split my tomatoes and end rot on the rest.
So third year, I put it all in 5gallon buckets so I could move under the porch during week long thunderstorms. Tomatoes didn’t burst but they didn’t grow either- neither did the cucs. Horrible harvest.
So this year I went back to the 4x8 beds and what ya know….rain, rain, rain.
I am thinking about going and getting one of those soccer canopy’s from Academy Sports and putting over the beds to keep some of the rain off them.

What kind of blackberry and blueberry bush do you recommend?
I have three that visit frequently here in Ascension. Amazing to watch them.
Since I am here…I will introduce.
Been a lurker for well over 10yrs. Had a garden and flower bed at one time, then got caught up running girls in soccer all over the map. Girls grew up and off to college so now I am back into my yard.
Live in Ascension.
Just finished up my garden of tomatoes, bell pepper, cucumbers, cantaloupe, watermelon and snap peas in three 4x8 raised boxes. I did the Mel’s Mix- vermiculite, peat moss, cow manure and mushroom compost. Guess I had too much manure? Have a fertilizer burn going on, edges of leaves curling and turning brown. Hopefully, it will drain off some and not do too much harm.
Really like reading yalls post. Nothing grandiose but if I can figure out how to post picts, I will.

Newbie here.
Seriously thinking about starting the chicken thing. Wife is severely anti but something I’ve always wanted to do.
Would appreciate a look at those plans.
Thanks.
