Hi! Do they really not care? I ask cause we just purchased a cheap west upper for a game in the fall for our friends daughter who ideally would like to sit in the student section.

Hi! How exactly did you do this? Did you gave an upper west tkt and then just scan it at any entrance gate? Or did you scan it at upper west and navigate your way to the student section?
