Exactly, it's the highest rated game of the year every year in spite of the early kick off time.
Put it in prime time and the ratings would be through the roof....

The Game has always been played at noon (sans 2006).
It's tradition.
It has nothing to do with tv time slots.
It always has been, and always will be, the highest rated college football game of the year regardless of kick off time....

The divisions were set up on geography, it just happens that the teams in the east are the best....
