re: Tailgate Advice - Out of towners - UF vs LSU - Bachelor Party

Sorry for the late update here - thanks for the friendly nudge Helmethead
I cannot thank all of you enough for the great advice! It was truly a weekend for the record books.
Went out to The Chimes on Friday and had some great food and drinks upstairs and got to watch the Aztec basketball game. Unfortunately we blew it against BYU but really enjoyed the vibes.
Saturday was incredible. Got dropped off at the parade grounds with a rolling cooler with about 80 beers/seltzers and just started cruising the campus.
As recommended, most of us donned the red and black of SDSU and were lucky enough to run into a couple of people from San Diego who were tailgating, a few fans of SDSU from their time at the final 4, and plenty of legit tailgates, the likes of which we do not see in Southern California. We got probably 6 or 7 people who recognized my post
Everyone we ran into was so hospitable offering us drinks, food, and advice for what to do next.
Helmethead and his wife were no exception. The true epitome of southern hospitality. My buddy, who is pescetarian, appreciated the fried fish and the mushrooms were incredible! Thank you so much for welcoming in our group and telling us all about your setup and the traditions at LSU.
It was great learning about how long people have been tailgating in particular locations and all the planning and preparation that go into it. I tip my hat to all of y'all for the dedication and execution.
We got to check out Mike the Tiger and saw the band and team march down Victory Hill.
We also enjoyed singing along to "neck" at every opportunity and I've had "Callin Baton Rouge" on repeat for the past 2 weeks.
Top all that off with one of the best performances by a QB in NCAA history and you have an amazing day.
I jokingly told my wife that I might forgo my SDSU season tickets and just throw that money towards coming out to LSU for a game every year.
Thanks again for all who responded and everyone who said whats up during our trip around campus. The bachelor had the time of his life and thanked me for being so prepared and I owe a lot of those tips to everyone here and this board in general.

Honestly, the post the UCONN guys made on this board a few years ago inspired me to write my own.
For whoever asked we are all in our mid 30's
We will mostly be in SDSU gear then with the bachelor in an LSU jersey. Keep an eye out for us and hopefully we run into some of y'all out there.
I truly appreciate all the helpful answers and tips. If there is anything obvious i've missed or if you have anything else to add please do.

Tailgate Advice - Out of towners - UF vs LSU - Bachelor Party

Hey Everyone!
I've been reading up on the great hospitality of LSU tailgates and cannot wait for my buddies and I to experience a SEC Saturday.
I'm the best man and have planned an entire bachelor party weekend revolving around the LSU football game. My buddy's entire family is from Louisiana and he is a huge LSU fan but he has never had the opportunity to experience an LSU football game.
We are staying in NOLA Thursday night and then driving up Friday and have an Air Bnb a few miles from campus for a few nights.
We are flying in from all over the country so we obviously wont be bringing a bunch of tailgating supplies
As of now the plan is to bring a couple disposable coolers with loads of drinks and just walk around campus/tailgating. There are 6 of us.
I've read that a good place to be dropped off would be Dalrymple and Highland via Uber/Lyft and just walk around campus from there.
Is it really true the best course of action is to find a giant tailgate and go up to them and talk to them?
As the username may suggest, we are all SDSU alumni and although our football team is a bit of an embarrassment at the moment, I've read that people suggest wearing SDSU gear or colors so that other tailgaters might recognize us from this post and invite us over. But also dont want to look ridiculous walking around in red and black instead of supporting the Tigers.
Also, I was wondering if there would be any suggestions for a great place to hang out and have a great time Friday night as we have no plans as of now.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions and GEAUX TIGERS!
