re: Any OTers had surgery for an enlarged prostate?

Were you having any particular symptoms prior to surgery ?
Never had any symptoms. Was being monitored for several years due to PSA steadily climbing. After last jump from 15 to 22 in 6 months they did MRI and another biopsy and found cancerous tumor this time. No pain before, no urination issues, … kinda scary that this might have gone undetected if not for a random blood test a few years ago

The gist I'm getting from most here is that an overnight stay is probably likely with inpatient surgery. 1 to 2 weeks with a catheter and managing symptoms of incontinence/pain afterward.

Dad went this morning for his cystoscopy and he has an enlarged prostate. At this point it’s too large to be treated with just medication. Thankfully, non-cancerous. Just curious if anyone has had the surgery, how it went, etc?
I had a robotic prostatectomy just three weeks ago to remove my enlarged prostate (53yo - 22 PSA). Surgeon said normally they weigh about 20-30g when they remove a cancerous prostate - mine was 100g!! The size caused my bladder to take a little longer to recover and had to have catheter for 2 weeks (though I hear 2 is usually the norm - mine originally said I would only need it for a week).
Surgery was pretty easy. Took pain medication in the hospital, but never needed it after I left the next day. Only issue now that the catheter is removed is the occasional urine squirt that will surprise me here and there - but that has improved tremendously in the last week. Not expected to need radiation or chemo in the future.

Have you tried Rogue? I prefer them.
Did the Rogues for about a year ... definitely preferred flavors over Zyn but they just ate my mouth up. Still think their Spearmint is the best thing out there.

Just order some ALP's, they are awesome.
Curious ... I ordered a few different flavors of ALP about a month ago. Flavors are very good, but they were all really hard and compacted when I got them. They do soften up after a few minutes ... just wondering if that maybe happened during shipping or if that is actually normal for that brand. If it's normal then probably won't buy them again. NYKD has been my go to since - they last a long time, most of the flavors are really good, and they don't hurt my mouth at all.

Didn’t Murphy Paul say there weren’t any gangs active in Baton Rouge.
“Nothing to see here “.
He said it at one of the press conferences they held to tell us how hard they were working to solve the murder of Allie Rice.
Seems like they have plenty of people in custody right now that they can question or compare DNA against for Allie Rice's murder.

I have blacklisted Wing Stop because the commercial they're running during football games starts with the sound of a doorbell. My dog goes nuts, inevitably prematurely ending my kid's nap. Bastards.
THIS!!! My four dogs lose their shite every time this one comes on, which is every commercial break.

I set accounts up for my children when they started working jobs at 15-16 at Hancock Whitney. It is setup so I can monitor the account online, but they can't get to my account details.
Been positive experience for the most part ... they do get a little spend-happy at first, but then when they realize how quickly it can disappear they have become more responsible.

Did he sing that Wake Up song? Something like wake up wake up you little sleepy head get your little buns out of bed, both cheeks now…..
I don’t know the name of the song.
I remember that song playing on J.R.'s show - not sure who sang it though. He was on a few different local stations back in the '80s.

Recently bought the Polk Signa S4 to use for our patio TV to replace the Bose speaker we had which was not loud enough. This one is phenomenal and has a great bass output. Probably even better if it were used inside.

Her dad was an investor and was not involved in the daily operations. Her stepmom ran the restaurant before the incident and several of her siblings worked there as well.

Surely solving Allie Rice's murder is going to be a prime topic among this group.
