Your team is a bunch of frauds. Hopefully you can make the playoffs so we whoop your arse when it really counts.

I would love to hear your reasoning on how they are a bunch of frauds.

As for FSU in the 80s and 90s, one would have thought they would have more than one natty in that time frame if as described.

FSU got two natties in the 90s, 1993 and 1999. They finished ranked in the AP top 4 from 1987 to 2000, 14 straight years which is actually an NCAA record, but lots of near misses, wide right kicks, and other bad luck, but it is what it is. Definitely could've had four or five others if not for one play each of those seasons.

I think LSU is going to do stellar in the music city bowl this year ?

Eh not seeing it. I think LSU goes 10-2, at worst 9-3 if Ole Miss gets them. I'm just not seeing any other losses.

Good game LSU fans!

I'm not here to gloat. You know I was right, so not much more needs to be said. But I will just add that Jayden Daniels really impressed me. I know you guys are crapping on him this morning, but that dude can play. He wasn't why you lost.

I still think LSU is a legit team and probably goes 10-2 this year, but FSU is just a cut above. I think you all underestimated them.

I'll be rooting for LSU the rest of the way. Sure there's some ulterior motive there in relation to FSU's SOS, but the LSU fans I met last night were all great.

Florida State will win tonight

and the point still stands that you woke up during the arse crack of dawn with the Tigers on your mind pu$$y

So waking up on game day (in Orlando) and having the game on my mind in the first hour of the day is weird?

I guess tailgating is weird too right? Those obsessed fans!

You woke up at 4:53am with the Tigers on your mind

I woke up at 5:00am, just like I do every morning, and posted at 5:53am. You do realize some of us are in EST right?

We had a completely new coaching staff and roster Kelly taped together from scratch that had largely never played together.

It was a massive advantage highlighted by all the miscues we had still working out the kinks.

I don't disagree, but the point is BOTH teams had advantages and both teams had disadvantages.
I keep reading this so-called advantage FSU had last year by playing a game before LSU, but did it ever occur to anyone the advantages that LSU might've had? For one, that week 0 game gave LSU actual game film on FSU, while FSU had nothing for LSU which was made even more challenging due to LSU's entire new staff and quarterback. In addition, several FSU players got dinged up in that week 0 game while LSU was obviously completely fresh. In fact FSU's most dependable LB Amari Gainer suffered an injury and was out for LSU. If you watched UNC beat South Carolina last night you saw how good Gainer is. It's very doubtful Jayden Daniels has the rushing performance he had if Gainer played.

So the advantages work both ways. I call it a wash.

Jacksonville State beat Florida State a couple of years ago. Is Jax State better than Florida State? I mean, that's the last time they played one another.

They do have bragging rights.
I'm not arguing FSU baseball being anywhere close to the championship status of LSU, very few programs are. But this thread is about head-to-head.

Other than 2019 LSU owns FSU in baseball.

Except for the fact they have a losing record vs FSU in baseball.

You fl state fans are stuck way in the past

The past? As in the most recent meeting in every sport?

Winning the most recent game in a given sport is called "bragging rights". And FSU has that over LSU in everything except women's swimming and diving. Maybe that changes Sunday?
In the last 40 years, LSU and FSU have faced off in 12 sports, and FSU has won the most recent meeting in 11 of the 12, including all the major sports.

FSU's wins
- Football

- Men's Basketball

- Women's Basketball

- Baseball

- Softball

- Women's Soccer

- Women's Volleyball

- Women's Beach Volleyball

- Men's Tennis

- Men's Cross Country

- Men's Swimming and Diving

LSU's wins:
- Women's Swimming and Diving

1968 8-3 W 8-3
1979 7-5 L 11-1
1980 7-4 L 10-2
1981 3-7-1 L 6-5
1982 8-3-1 W 9-3
1983 4-7 L 8-4
1989 4-7 L 10-2
1990 5-6 L 10-2
1991 5-6 L 11-2
2022 10-4 L 10-3

And 8 of the 10 were LSU home games.

FSU threw for only 155.

If lsu only gives up 155 yards passing we are winning in a blowout

Well, on 21-23 passing and 3/0. But I do agree. FSU will need far more big plays in the passing game to win Sunday.

Travis vs Chestnut

Ah 2021, vs a 7-loss FSU. FSU hasn't changed a bit since then. LSU was also a 7-loss team that year, so I guess they're the same too.

But credit where credit is due, that was a great play by Chestnut. I'm sure he'll do fine covering Johnny Wilson.

oh wow he missed a single tackle on a 6’7 WR, that guy sucks!

I never said he sucked. But yes, it would appear to be a mismatch, no?

Johnny Wilson vs Duce Chestnut?

Is this the matchup we will see Sunday?

Wilson vs Chestnut

Presently, I think we are a better team. We were last year but couldn’t execute well enough to win.

You think LSU was the better team in that game?

LSU did improve over the course of the year, but so did FSU who finished top 15 in both total offense and total defense. The only three schools besides FSU to do that were Alabama, Ohio State, and Georgia.
quote:

You completely cut off the fact (deliberately i presume) we would have had the ball at our own 16 with over 3 minutes left in the 1st half instead we ended up getting the ball at our own 8 with a minute left and THAT is a huge difference.

Again, we could have driven down and potentially gotten points if we didnt muff the punt having that much time. The fact FSU didnt score is irrelevant to the fact getting the ball with 3+ minutes in your own territory in a half left is a lot different approach offensively than inside your own 10 yard with a minute left. Thats a completely lost possession for us.

That's fine, but again, this is a "could've". Speculating what could've happened is something everyone does, but it doesn't mean it should've or would've happened. And it definitely doesn't prove anything about LSU being better or that they deserved to win the game.

What about FSU's mistakes? Didn't they make mistakes too? Didn't they get called for 7 penalties to LSU's 4? Didn't they miss blocking assignments, whiff on some tackles on key plays, and have drops like LSU? Didn't they fumble the ball at LSU's 1 yard line? And wasn't that fumble completely unforced? Wouldn't you say FSU punching it in from the 1 is a much more legit "shoulda/woulda" than LSU punching it in from 84 yards away from their own 16? Or 50+ yards away from FG range for the LSU kicker that, as someone pointed out earlier, was experiencing trajectory problems even on chip shots? Presuming any kind of score there is silly.

The bottom line is, both teams screwed up at various points, but FSU was the better team for much more of the game than LSU was.
quote:

Well considering it was a 1 point game, frick yeah 55 seconds mattered.

Not really. The 55 second FSU "possession" happened right before LSU's final 99 yard drive. The only way it would've had any effect on the game is if LSU attempted an onside kick and recovered (against an FSU defense that would be set up for an onside kick). These are long shot odds that you don't "presume" to happen. Sure they COULD happen, but so could lots of other things in the course of a game. It's definitely not something that should be presumed WOULD'VE happened, and certainly not the reason LSU lost.
