re: Orange Beach

I almost bought a unit in there last year but the HOA dues were ridiculous. All the units in there are privately owned so they will be listed for rent on a bunch of different platforms (liquid life, VRBO, Beach Ball etc...). Best bet is just to google Broadmoor Orange Beach Rentals and it the results will pull from all the different management companies.
No don't own one....Just showing that there are places to stay well below the OPs price point. We stayed there twice and it suited my family's needs at the time. Obviously, there are other much nicer places to stay but then you have to pay a premium which the OP was complaining about.
re: How did Gulf Shores/Orange Beach get so pricy?

Try this one in Gulf Shores.....
Gulf Shores 3/2 Condo
I have stayed there a couple of times and enjoy having access to both the lagoon and the beach...each one is about a 50 yard walk.
