Dave Clawson would be a very good hire but probably a bad fit. Plus his offense is a notoriously slow install. By that I mean it may take several seasons for it to bear fruit. Patience would definitely wear thin amongst the fanbase. Here's a name out of left field. Fresno State head coach Kalen DeBoer.

Canada, Pelini, Linehan? Canada gets a pass because the plug may have been pulled too soon. Pelini and Linehan we're too long in the tooth.

New to the board and just an observation. Most college head coaches at least know enough about X's and O's on both sides of the ball to investigate for themselves.

When discussing the offense before the season began Orgeron stated that he sought out Joe Brady's advice on who could run his offense. Joe gave him 2 names and Orgeron proceeded to hire both of them. So coach couldn't have just watched film of several different OCs around the country and compare? Of course not. Evaluating and executing competent coordinator hires are not one of his strong suits. Brady and Aranda were lightning in a bottle. That bottle has long since floated down the bayou.
