concrete slab recs in metairie

Posted by coonasstiger on 5/14/25 at 8:55 am
reading that other thread about the shed floor got me thinking I need a slab poured in the backyard.

whats a good company to pump/finish a slab?

dimensions will be approx 12' x 20' and about 100' from the street. will have to be pumped from street as no truck access to backyard
ok i thought i could have a personal IRA and then one through the company as well but if its still just the same yearly amount across both then that doesnt help me. im looking to put another chunk away each year and of course deduct it from my income.

and im knocking on 50 years old if that helps what my decision should be
own a small business that's doing fairly well. looking to possibly add to my retirement options through it. have a personal IRA that I max out each year and thats it.

what's an ez affordable option to add another retirement account or 2 through the business?

i do have hourly employees. the ones that been with us long enough do not want to participate. so as of now would only be me (possibly adding my wife at a later point as she is an owner as well)

another IRA or a 401k? not sure if the plans cost the same or one is more to add than the other? is either a PITA to manage from my point of view or they the same?

also would like to do both deferred and if possible a roth, if thats smart? (we wont hit the roth limit for a few years if keep growing like we are but if it stagnates obviously we will be under for a while)

have a meeting this weekend in the biloxi/gulfport area. bringing the chick along for the ride. want to take her to really nice dinner friday/saturday evenings. what's some top shelf romantic restaurants with dang good food to spoil her at? we like seafood (she loves lobster), italian, and hibachi would be the 3 main types of places looking to go to. doesnt matter if its in a casino or its own entity. just looking to dress up and really impress/thank her for being my awesome person. TIA
ah ok makes sense, so it will renew each week at whatever the auction rate is, could be higher, could be lower?

not that $5000k is chump changed but I wasnt going to throw a huge amount in there till i understood more about it.

but whatever % it goes at when it buys, i still would have had to do the 13 weeks to get that full percentage for this first 4 week period?

as in if i only did it for 4 weeks then it would have earned less of a %
Never had done this before but it looked fairly simple. set up an account yesterday on treasury direct, bought $5000 tbills 4 week and set to reinvest 13 times.

so that $5000 at the end of a year when it's put back into my account would have returned 5.96%?

thx for this thread. saw ur post and moved quite a bit into it and getting an extra 1%+ on it. the beauty of information from TD strikes again

filing extension for taxes

Posted by coonasstiger on 4/11/22 at 5:55 pm
getting rid of CPA that wont answer calls or emails. need to file extension on my own for first time while searching for a new one.

married, file jointly, have 2 LLC's, one I own by myself, one I own with wife.

still owe some for last year, what's easiest way for me to file extension for our personal and the businesses and make a payment?

get k1's for the business, w9s have the sole proprietor/single member llc checked on it.

is it 3 separate extensions for all 3? or I just do a personal extension and it counts for the businesses as well?

also need to make our estimated payment for first quarter this year...FML

tmobile cell service vs verizon

Posted by coonasstiger on 5/4/21 at 1:39 pm
how is tmobile's service in south central louisiana and out towards jeff parish? thats basically my main travel areas for work.

currently have verizon and theres a deadspot where my house is and have to use wifi calling. so basically have to be inside to use my cell.

verizon work perfectly fine everywhere else but my dang house and yard.

tmobile is cheaper but i know nothing about their service level. would it be about the same as verizon?
would love to throw some extra cash in something like this and earn that kind of rate but of course its asking for SSN...you guys arent worried about giving your social security number to this?

looking to do a refi. shopping it around.

want to see what they are at compared to some of the quotes we're getting

anyone got a name of someone in metairie/kenner/nola area that knows their stuff inside and out on refi's?
thats pretty dang nice for the price. looking to do pretty much the exact same thing but build it myself.

that shed came in a prefab kit? anywhere around here to buy a metal shed kit like that or possibly order online?
ironic that I start this thread yesterday and last night whitney emails me a generic what they think will happen update last night.

basically says that at the end of 8 weeks I will get with them with corresponding info/proof that I spent the PPP loan in the correct fashion to get it forgiven.

main thing I'm worried about which I have not seen any info on is that us depositing income that is still coming in and spending money out of the checking account on things that are not covered by the PPP loan during the 8 week period will somehow mess up the forgiveness aspect. obviously I will only turn in payroll reports and receipts of the bills that qualify for PPP.

praying that everything is gonna go smooth and work out doing it this way but it is the government we're dealing with and they really should have explained how us small business owners should handle this better from an accounting purview.
sorry another long PPP thread...

small company with 8 employees, one business checking account at whitney that all income goes into and all payroll and bills gets paid out of. whitney did the PPP loan and deposited into this same account.

I plan to pay most of the loan out in payroll, probably about 85%-90% of it. the remaining for bills (obviously done in 8 weeks from day money hit my account)

we are still making some income, obviously no where what we were doing before the shutdown, cpa told me he thinks I should just keep depositing that money into the account like normal. he's not being very helpful to several of us who are constantly trying to get in touch with him since this shutdown occurred.

so at the end of 8 weeks is the bank just going to want a payroll report showing the amount in payroll paid out during that 8 weeks was at least 75% of loan? the remaining, I just turn in receipts of bills paids during the 8 weeks and just make sure it comes out close to what the loan total was?

started one the other day was slow as hell then went down for maintenance.

is everyone seeing it the same way i am now? there's no more login?

guess everything i have done in those prior sections on tuesday is gone and i hate that it wants my personal SSN, not just FED ID.

it wants us to download a pdf and upload it completed to that box for business forms?

just want to make sure others are seeing the same way im seeing.

Getting around overtime pay?

Posted by coonasstiger on 9/12/19 at 8:06 pm
We schedule accordingly to where its rare for employees to go over 40hours. 1 or 2 overtime hours here or there is not a big deal; however, I have an employee is begging for extra hours (like 60+ hours a week) and wants it to be paid her normal hourly rate b/c I would not do it any other way. Said she would sign whatever to say that she completely agrees to be paid her normal rate after 40 hours.

Is this legal? Say 6 months go by and she gets mad and quits or gets fired and decide to bring this before LA Workforce. I would obviously have her signed contract and I would video her agreeing to it as well. Would I end up somehow having to go back and pay her the overtime if this happens?

I want to be nice and help her out but I'm not going to do it if it if there's any way could come back and bite me in the arse and have to pay thousands in overtime.

TIA

looking to do a major kitchen remodel/upgrade, pulling out walls opening up living room...that kind of fun stuff.

looking for some recommendations on some peeps that others have used and were pleased.

TIA
instead of creating a new thread, hoping someone figured out the passthrough mode on the new bgw210?

even though this thread on AT&T Forums is full of crap info..some are still saying they got passthrough to work.

If i turn off dhcp on bgw210 and add mac id of my edgerouter, like it says to, I get nothing on edgerouter. public ip is not passing through and therefore anything connected to edgerouter is not connected to internet.

if I turn on dhcp like some say you have to do on bgw210, it passes an internal ip (192.x.x.x) to edgerouter and of course anything connected to edgerouter then connects to internet fine. however I dont think that these peeps realize that the bgw210 is still routing and has the public ip on it this way.

i turned off wifi and the firewall stuff on bgw210.

so anyone figure out how to really pass the public ip through to another router?
