re: Do you think they will require “PCR” Covid testing for game?
Posted by Black White Cookie on 9/2/21 at 1:05 pm to NorthshoreTiger76
I Had the shot but I am not giving to to my kids as they are obviously very low risk of complications from the virus. I got the shot because I have had enough patients die in their 40’s or still have long Covid that the benefits outweigh the risk.
What we also don’t know is the life expectancy of someone with long Covid. We think it is an inflammatory response and if that is a lifelong response then those people will have a significantly shortened life expectancy and we think that long Covid is somewhere in the 10% of symptomatic patients. I would say that the long term effects of the vaccine is likely much safer than the long term effects of Long Covid which is very common (would need a study in that).
With that said I am just not ready to give the shot to a group of people with minimal risk unless a new strain comes out that significantly effects them.
Thus my question about if a PCR is required or just a rapid test.

Do you think they will require “PCR” Covid testing for game?

Do you think they will check to see if it is a PCR test for entrance into the game or will they likely accept any type of test from a doctors office?
I just can’t imagine them checking to see if every persons test is a PCR test.

#18 is given to someone who has proven to be a leader on the team. Not necessarily the best impactful player. #7 is for the most impactful player.

LSU has 10 players rated over .970
Alabama has 25 players rated over .970
I understand their players get more bumps but that is pretty significant. Depth.

It depends on which vaccine you received. Last I checked moderna was 67% effective and the others were in the upper 40% range for delta. That was initial data so I am guessing you have something more recent.
I have seen about 20% of our positives in vaccinated people in clinical setting. Considering the vaccinated have similar viral loads (although not as many total days at that high viral load) it doesn’t make sense to allow vaccinated in without a negative test. Yes it is less risk but even if your stat is correct at 4x less likely that is still a high risk. So instead of 500 vaccinated people walking in with Covid you will have 125 vaccinated people spreading Covid to unvaccinated people.
If you allow vaccinated to get in without a negative test you will be having a lot of positives entering the stadium who could infect the unvaccinated.
While I know the vaccine helps (I received it) I don’t believe in mandates. Especially when you are dealing with kids and pregnant women which the vaccine wasn’t tested on in any RCT.

I get the negative pcr test.
What I don’t get is that the vaccine doesn’t lower your chance very much for contracting the delta strain so they will basically be letting vaccinated people with Covid into the game.
If they were really serious about preventing the spread of Delta the only requirement would be a negative PCR test. The vaccine should not be a factor for this based on Delta.

It is Max and if you don’t realize this then you don’t know football.
Either way they are both great options as starters and if one goes down there isn’t really much of a drop-off. The separation isn’t much but Max will be your starter.

This…
doesn’t matter what coach O says to the media (for obvious reasons he isn’t going to announce). It’s going to be Max to start the season unless something crazy happens in the fall or he isn’t winning.

Any advice on finding someone to dig after I get all the expert advice? Just ask a farmer in the area?

Help/Advise digging Pond in Elton Louisiana

Just bought some property and there is a 20 acre pasture with a couple hundred acres of woods surrounding. Easy access to pasture.
I want to dig a 7-12 acre pond in that pasture if possible and trying to find the best way to find someone who could dig for a decent price.
I have heard stories from people getting it done for free and the person digging keeps the dirt to $4-5/yd.
Anyone in the Elton area know someone who could dig it for a decent price?
Also looking for help on design, stocking...

re: Now that we’ve all had fun with LSU, I’m calling it now, their DL is the real deal.

There were 17 receptions against the 2 corners that replaced Stingley. I didn’t calculate the yardage but most were on third down. LSU looked bad no doubt but after seeing that on film And all the mistakes at least with Stingley back and “if” they correct the offensive line mistakes then LSU will be fine.
No not SEC championship fine but could end up second to Bama this year (if they correct everything).
We will know more when they play Florida. If they don’t make the corrections then it will be a 4-6 or 5-5 season.
