re: Roth IRA tax questions
Posted by bbates4 on 4/25/12 at 11:06 am
Yea I don't know either. Its just that whatever document was furnished to IRS by Vanguard didn't show my basis or anything, just the withdrawal. It didn't specify that it was not gains.

Another question about this...I did not declare the income from this Roth withdrawal (mentioned in OP) in my return. Thinking about it now, I myself know that it's not taxable income, but the IRS does not. If I were to get audited, would there be a penalty for not declaring the income even though there are no taxes due on it? Sorry if this question doesn't make sense. I think I'll get a CPA next year......

Roth IRA tax questions
Posted by bbates4 on 4/7/12 at 12:50 pm
I made a $4,000 contribution to my Roth IRA in both 2007 and 2008. In 2011, I took a distribution of $4,100. I am well under 59.5 years of age.
Does an early distribution penalty apply to me? It is only contribution that was withdrawn - no gains.

state income taxes
Posted by bbates4 on 10/9/10 at 9:18 am
Ok, so a few years ago I did an internship in another state for the summer. I paid taxes to that state (Colorado). That was my only income for that entire year. I am a LA resident. Was I supposed to pay LA state taxes?

Whats his role going forward? Think he will get more touches this week with Bradshaw's ankle issue? Or just garbage time carries? (not sure if the injury will limit Bradshaw or not)

I've got to think that Brees will end up with a better season than Orton...right? If not then it is basically a LT for AJ swap

Both have ~58 points so far in my league

There is no way of knowing. If the dude trading AJ has Moss, Marshall, and Roddy White then giving up AJ doesn't really matter.
I am trading AJ
I have DJax, B Marshall, and M Floyd remaining

I'm considering a similar trade. Giving Andre Johnson and Flacco (my backup) for Brees and LT
Orton is my starter, and I need RB help. Stacked at receiver

re: trade desean jackson?

The problem is that most guys who have the better RBs in my league don't need a WR.
I might have a shot at getting Mendenhall, as that guy has 2 other decent options at RB. He may take the trade.

I've got to move one of my receivers. It's a non ppr league, so i doubt i'll be able to pull a top tier RB.
trade desean jackson?

Have a guy in my league offering Cedric Benson for DeSean Jackson. Heres my team. I love DJax but my RB situation is bad
QB - Orton
WR - Andre Johnson
WR - Desean Jackson
RB - Brandon Jackson
RB - Peyton Hillis
Flex - Brandon Marshall
TE - Tony G
Also have Malcolm Floyd on bench..

Which free agent TE?

I have Tony Gonzales, going to keep him another week or two before dumping him (if things dont pick up)
So, which FA tight end is a potential starter?
Aaron Hernandez
Tony Moeaki
Bo Scaife
Greg Olsen
Brandon Pettigrew

cadillac williams or arian foster type, at best
I think I'd take one of them. I just need some RB depth. Felix as a #2 scares me. No chance at Foster though, a big Texans fan took him early.
The guy who has Cadillac has crap WRs, I could possibly swing that. Even if he doesn't have a fantastic year, I could spot play him or Felix on matchups or who is hot/cold.

You won't get anyone better than Grant or Jones
Is this because you think Jones will have a decent year, or because Floyd doesnt have much trade value?
Trade now on hype?

Ok, so my team is weak at RB, and i'm thinking of trading some bench WRs to improve. Here are my starters...12 man, No PRR
QB - Flacco
WR - A Johnson
WR - B Marshall
Flex - Desean Jax
RB - R Grant
RB - Felix Jones
TE - T Gonzo
BN - M Floyd
BN - M Williams (TB)
BN - F Jackson
BN - M Hardesty
BN - B Scott
Now, since both Floyd & Williams are getting some preseason hype/love...should I pawn them off now to get a decent RB2, or wait it out and see if they get off to a good start and possibly get an even better RB? I see people out there saying 1000yd/8+td for Floyd. Thoughts?
I guess the question really comes down to the probably of these two being busts.
