LSU Lab School -- worth it?

My family is looking to relocate from Livingston Parish before the next school year starts. My daughter (6) has an interview at LSU Lab School this week. I'm sure it's wishful thinking, but what's the school like? How does it compare to the public schools in Mandeville?
