Are you hunting wild pheasant? Guide/lodge or DIY? If guide/lodge, which outfit?

Looking for a place I can take my dad for wild pheasant with some bonus ducks and/or geese.

Everyone thanks for the tips. Important thing for me is distance from home as well. I live just across causeway from old Metairie, and with work daylight hours are tough to come by. Also, my dog is only 11 weeks so if someone tickets me for her they are going to hell and that’s their problem. Bullred, appreciate the offer. Email? Definitely was wondering if Lafreniere had good ponds. I trained my last dog in Baton Rouge at the burbank soccer complex in the dog ponds. Something similar would be ideal.

I just got a puppy from Waterproof Retrievers in Houma. My puppy is a little over nine weeks and she is already well-mannered and able to sit, stay, come, and sight retrieve short to medium distances. I train my labs myself using water dog and tips I've picked up along the way, but this puppy clearly has great genes. As of a few days ago, there were several males and one female still remaining from her litter, which was with Rayne and Tippe. I believe Rayne just passed his first master national. Both are hunt test dogs with exceptional bloodlines. I cant remember exactly, but think I only paid $1250, which is a fantastic price for the bloodline.

Anyone looking for one? Was given this one and have no need for it—wife and I bought a wood burning one that doesn’t require any hookups because that fits our back yard better. If interested, shoot an email to amnicholson1212@gmail.com
