To check the setlists played by bands at The Kingfish, go to www.setlist.fm.
I have no regard for you. Only a scumbag uses the word retarded. Well done, ... I guess.
Why do you keep posting about matsurbating? You seem to keep talking about it. I guess its what you do all day in your Batcave bedroom. Enjoy your Hungry Man frozen dinners while dreaming of a woman's touch. LOL
FANTASTIC info !!! Much appreciated ! Thank you TchefuncteTiger, Tigers1956, Treedawg, and the Detective ! The collective info so far is that a Food Town Grocery turned into The Kingfish, next to Uncle Earl's. Earl's is now The Bulldog, and Kingfish, once located at 4355 Perkins Road, is now a gym. The Pistols opening band was Rockin' Dopsie, according to setlist.fm. There is a story that before The Pistols went on, a bunch of LSU wrestling team members, apparantly employed by The Kingfish, walked in front of the stage to act as security (?)
Sex Pistols are the greatest punk band ever and Bollocks is the greatest punk album ever. The orig 4 Pistols are all accomplished. Sid was the only dope, in more ways than one. After the Pistols, every other punk band follows.
Johnny didn't do heroin, he rode the tour bus with Sid to keep an eye on Sid who had a smack problem. Steve and Paul took planes with manager Malcolm because they could and they got along with Malcolm. After San Fran concert, Johnny quit/ got fired. The Pistols remained on Warner Bros releasing singles sung by Sid, Steve, Paul, and other frontmen. And W.B. released the Swindle lp. Malcolm milked W.B. and all the Pistols as much as he could. Malcolm kept Sid smacked up on the U.S. tour so he could perform. However it was Malcolm who bailed Sid out of jail after he smashed the bottle over Patti Smith's brother's head.
I applaud you, detective, although I understand Kingfish was next to Uncle Earls, and not the same location. I called up Smiley Anders at a Baton Rouge newspaper and asked him some questions several months ago. I thought I reached a dead end until I found this website. I went to LSU 87-91, even saw Shaquille and the great Chris Jackson play, and remember Uncle Earls opening up (?) (maybe its second location) but never cared to go because I was a Murphys/Fred's guy. I went to Tabby's Blues Box, Art Bar, the Varsity, Bayou Bar, the Caterie, the Happy Note, but would have loved to have hung out at Kingfish back in the day. Would have loved to have seen The Police and The Meters. Poppa Funk, you rule in Heaven !
You think you are Batman, and you are criticizing me? Get out of your Batcave and get a Batgirlfriend!
Maybe, i only posted today and yesterday. Maybe after a decade I will reach 89000 posts!
HOLY SHIZNET !! I wonder if they know what sacred ground they're doing pilates on ??

Its a great appetizer. Credit should go where credit is due.
Im very impressed, very jealous, and very grateful for that info. So what is The Kingfish today?? What is to the left of the Bulldog today ?

It lost you perhaps because you're mentioning Phil's marina, and thats not even the right restaurant. But i agree it was out of left field. Perhaps Guy Roth knows the origin or its creator.
The Pistols were a big deal. Your opinion is an opinion. Mine too. It doesnt mean you or I are correct, it just means it's an opinion.
The original Pistols played about 90 shows. Of the 13 scheduled U.S. shows, they only played 7.
Does anybody know where The Kingfish club in Baton Rouge was located? I am under the impression that it was the present site of The Bulldog in B.R. Before is was the Bulldog, I believe it was the first site of Uncle Earl's, which has since obviously moved. The Bulldog is located in Southdown Mall at 4385 Perkins Rd. Was this the address? Does anybody remember seeing The Pistols at The Kingfish in 1978 ?

I remember everything about working at Russell's Marina Grill in 1986, including everybody's names. We were always told our own kitchen invented the onion mumm. I saw that Tim Gannon created the bloomin onion. Maybe that name, but not the mumm. We didnt have a Tim Gannon working there.
