You couldn’t be more wrong about him. Great guy.
He’s actually the furthest find from a prick. Super nice guy who would do anything for anyone. Some people’s discretion ends up public, but most dont. Let’s not judge
But the never actually did the fish testing, instead they used the equipment and took "customers" out on charter fishing trips. On the state payroll, using the sates boats, state's gas, etc. etc..
Very observant. He is a shady individual
The end of JBE's first term was a certainty before it even really began. First, he basically had to trade his second term to get elected to his first term. He took so much money from the trial attorney's they owned him which put him in an impossible political situation. I will give him that he did what he had to do to get elected and managed a bad situation as best he could. His closest staff members, who are basically children and incompetent at best, encouraged him to win over the people who were against him while ignoring his base of voters and often times alienating his base to appease his detractors.

JBE was an amazing legislator. He was wicked smart, articulate and not afraid to fight for what was best for the state of Louisiana. But that is when he represent a constituency of 21,000 in a rural district not all that much concerned with what was going on in Baton Rouge. He has been an awful Governor with his hands tied and afraid to make the tough decisions.

JBE and the citizens of Louisiana would have been better served to stay in the House and/or Senate where he would have been the next John Alario. I imagine in the next four years you will be able to find him reading books at Barnes & Noble with Buddy Roemer.
You are correct he had to fight with them to artificially inflate revenue to ensure we have a "balanced budget". It's all a house of cards.

It's sad to see people having fun with the numbers to make sure our standards and expectations remain low. Louisiana has so many natural resources and add that with our geographic location we should be a very rich state who is first in everything. But, the "southern average" is used for justification for business as usual.
JBE and his minions are breaking arms patting themselves on the backs because the LEGISLATURE passed a bill which increases teacher pay in Louisiana $1,000 annually.

Kudos to you Gov!! Louisiana teachers will now make $10,000 per year BELOW the NATIONAL AVERAGE instead of $11,000 per year BELOW the NATIONAL AVERAGE. That is more like a cost of living adjustment.

How about we raise the standards and also invest on growing the economy so our less than average paid teachers would stop producing less than average students who even if they are able to find a job in Louisiana will no doubt make less than average incomes.

Perhaps it is because we have a less than average Governor who wants to take credit for things he should have done, and done better, a long time ago. But, typical Louisiana- lets just keep throwing money at a problem rather than making systemic changes that would produce results.
At least Jindal did not try to obscure the fact he was running the state in the ground for his own personal gain.

If they would give DC a few adjustment points credit because their citizens actually re-elected a Mayor who went to federal prison for smoking crack with a prostitute on camera. ("bitch set me up") then I am sure we would slide right into that 51st spot.

JBE is a joke. He rants about how unemployment is down which is such a joke. The reality is that the people on unemployment is down and they dont factor in all those people who cant find a job and are dropped from the unemployment program after 6 months.

If you want a future- Louisiana is not the place for you.
He's trying to appeal to the voters in north Louisiana because he sure didnt score any political points with his base making this move. But, the sad reality is that no announced candidate, as of yet, R or D, could beat him. And he is so vulnerable.

So, biggest loser in this move would be Trey Ourso and the other "boys" who love to piss away (while putting large chunks of it in own their pockets) national money from DGA or DNC. Because the Democratic party in Louisiana will never see that funding.

re: Marriage age laws in Louisiana

Why would people be in a rush to get married? Jesus give the kids some legal protection to ensure peace and serenity in their lives for as long as possible.

The only people who would support this bill are divorce attorneys (they probably are). To them they see marriage as future business, especially when you allow marriage at this young age.

So, I say give the kids peace and serenity for as long as possible. They have the rest of their lives to be miserable.
That's the Louisiana way. Except this Gov not smart enough to fix them.

When all is said and done and he loses total control of the legislature everyone can cut little Buddy Roemer some slack
Actually, the respectable Roman clergy can be found at the Camelot Club, which is next door, and much nicer.

We're talking like Candle light vs. Gold club different.

He is shady. You know old Puggy telling you the truth
