Carpet grass
Posted by blindhogg on 3/28/19 at 8:01 am
I have some low areas in the backyard that I'm planning on filling with river silt. I'm considering sowing carpet grass seed instead of sod. Any thoughts?
I spelled it that way to express my affection for them.

re: Little Creek hunting club

My first club experience was 1500 acres with over 100 paying members! Most never showed up and some just came to get away from the old lady. Bear Creek was just up the road. My second and LAST club was 300 acres & 6 members. It only took 1 dick head to ruin it though. I’ve been hunting on my family’s 60 acres with 1 other person for 20 yrs and loving it. 2-3 nice bucks every year. Now the Corpse of engineers is digging a canal thru it! It’s always something!

Yes, they are amongst us. One was sighted in Shanandoah recently. We had one on our property near Port Hudson a few years back chasing a doe. Keep in mind there range may cover 200 miles.
You may not be at the top of the food chain after all!

Maybe so, but gone are the six packs, now 4 or 3 packs at 2.49 ea. Individual plants were .79 ea. now 2.49 ea. Big Box individuals are 3 to 4 $.
I'm looking for a source like Johnny's place used to be, or close to it. Im willing to travel a ways.

Try the Brandywine...
Amish Brandywine hands down best flavor.
Where in EBR, Livingston or Ascension can I find a good Vegetable plant source?
Posted by blindhogg on 3/19/19 at 5:59 pm
Before the flood my source for veg plants was Johnny Naylors on Ol Hammond. He joined up with Cleggs but it’s not the same. Prices are a lot higher as it seems that they buy out from somewhere. I believe they used to plant their own.

Landscape Depot is my source. River silt for fill, garden soil for flower beds or containers, by the bag or the yard. Good folks
