I get it about Robert Nkemdiche's brother. But its not like RN went out and recruited other 4-5 star players to jump aboard. Up until the last day he seemed to seriously consider LSU.
So does anyone have any real ( or second hand) insight into Ole Miss and how they pulled it off?
I've been to Oxford, seen the town and campus and don't understand it.
What's the matter? You don't like beautiful girls, good food, and a day in the Grove. Do you prefer obnoxious and constantly carping fans? You should enjoy Oxford and visit more often.

you know so little. Have you heard of Patrick Willis (49'ers), Michael Oher (Ravens) or Mike Wallace (Steelers)? Or No. 10 who plays for the Giants? Going to Ole Miss really hurt those guys, didn't it?

LSU had old gold helmets through the Gus Tinsley years which ended in 1954. In 1955 when Dietzel was hired, the yellow gold helmets were adopted. As a matter of fact, the color became known as "Dietzel Gold" in uniform catalogues. Another interesting fact is that the GB Packers adopted the gold color as is evident today.
As I remember, LSU and Georgia had a stormy relationship going back to the '30s. A large post-game fight in Athens resulted in several members of the LSU cadet corps being left in hospitals.
I personally remember the 1952 and 1953 Georgia games, and although LSU won the 1953 game played in Athens, it was a tough, bloody win. Remember, in those days there were no face masks, and college football was in many respects legalized fist fighting. I guess that after 1953, it was decided not to continue the series.
