Seems to have settled down. Somebody must have realized their 3 year old was playing on the camera selection board.

This OU produced broadcast is hard to watch. Apparently you have to guess what happens on some plays. Must be student directing it.

Makes me sad. Talk amongst youselves
JV was likely sent to deliver this message to quell.some of the unrest. If I'm not mistaken, some on these boards were calling for just that.

No, it wasn't asked, but I'm sure he didn't expect to get asked. This coach is not a friend, we were just having a friendly conversation. He's had his chances, not sure he even expects to get another as a HC.

You are free to not believe me. Why would I put him on blast? However, there is plenty of info in my OP to figure it out.
Yep only 13 posts. Mostly because i treat this board as entertainment. Dont post unless i feel i have something to add. I will say that ive noticed that a large number of post isnt indicative of cogent thought.

I know but forgive me, i take most of what i read on here with a grain of salt. But while yhis coach obviously has no direct knkwledge, i at least got some insite into what coaches and agents are saying amongst themselves. Was a bit validating to me.

Not a direct LSU Sauce-but...

Heard from a current college coach that what he's hearing is that LSU is going full bore after Riley. I assume he is getting this info from his agent. His agent should be relatively high profile since he's been a D1 HC at multple places. Take it for what its worth. Talk amongst yourselves.
Not only will the FBI not be giving any information to the NCAA that has been determined to be irrelevant by the court, it would be illegal for them to do so. In fact it is illegal for anyone (i.e. the defense) to release that information. Which is why it was "leaked" and not just released. If WW could prove who "leaked" this transcript, he would probably have the basis for a good law suit.
"Everyone is doing it" is a poor excuse, but it is a pertinent observation. WW got caught playing the game how it is played at the highest levels. The question is do you want to compete? If you do, you compete the way everyone does or you are at a disadvantage. You can be clean and do things "the right way", but you won't win. If you choose that you have to be satisfied with "We did it the right way".
It seems that way because it's the one you're looking at. Most of these Administrators never left college, have spent very little if any time in the private sector and have little to no idea how the world works outside their insular ivy covered walls.
Funny thing about this situation is that next year this will all be "moot". The NBA will change the rule and allow 18 year old's to sign. Any player with any near term potential will enter the draft or end up in the G League. CBB will be comprised of players with no current market value leaving these street agents no one to sell.
This is a simple scenario. The Defense team is trying to muddy the water in this trial, because their client is guilty and the wire taps have been ruled inadmissible. So they start leaking small things as a threat to release more, which will start to include the Blue Bloods of CBB. The theory being that once the big boys get scared they and their politically connected backers will lean on the court for a good deal to make it stop.
I am not trying to be positive or negative on the hire. Just wanted to inject a little subjectivity.

SE used to be the guy that HC's brought to "fix" things on Offense. Consequently, when things were beyond repair he ended up getting fired with entire staffs. The life style, while financially rewarding, was hard on a family. But he's a coach and loves it. So he started coaching High School ball. He was quite happy coaching and living in his hometown of Central. When LSU came calling he answered because at the time it was a stable situation and it was his Alma mater. Relatively certain that SE decided years ago that he wasn't going anywhere no matter who came calling and everyone in coaching has known this. If you can accuse him of anything, it's not being as mercenary as the majority of his peers.
For the last 20 years to be relevant you have to know what he has or has not turned down over that time period to be able to say that. Maybe he and his family got tired of the vagabond life of a college coach. While I may concede he may not be the best OC in college football, I'll wait and see whether he's the best for LSU, which is all that matter's to me.

O wasn't my 1st choice either. Athough I agree with not betting 75 million that Jimbo is the next Saban like aTm did. Also wasn't in favor of Herman because I feel like the Houston "coaching tree" is suspect, all Offense no Defense, fun to watch, wins nothing of consequence.
True. But you will get a general consensus of probably 5-10 names that everyone will agree should be in the discussion for the best.

While the above is true, if you hire one of the 5-10, those in favor of the other's will say "you lied". Each and every coach has to go with who he thinks is best and live or die with that decision. Hell, it could be argued that Saban, with one notable exception, hasn't ever hired the best OC at Bama. The best partnerships are not necessarily built on combined talent, but who works best together and compliment each other. To many egos involved to be other wise. I believe this is why many coaches don't do as well when hired away from their initial success.
Not really positive or negative, just a fan. But how could anyone say O "lied" when the whole "Best OC in college football is subjective. I think O believes that SE is the best OC for LSU. To my point, if you ask the question, "Who is the best OC in college football?", you will not get one answer. The response to this will of course be, "Well I know who it ain't.", which is just a cop out.
